Are this game franchises dead?

Now a days lots of new franchises are coming out but I wonder what is happening with following old franchises...

1. Max Payne
2. Prince of Persia
3. Dead Space
4. Burnout
5. Bully
6. Castlevania
7. DmC
8. Splinter Cell

Why every year same free running (Assassin Creeds), first person( COD, BF) or Realism every year.

I doubt there will be another Splinter Cell game since Tom Clancy's departure... A shame I miss Sam Fisher, I liked Splinter Cell Conviction and Blacklist better than Hitman counter-parts.

Assassins Creed replaced Prince of Persia pretty much...

Rockstar already somewhat said that Bully 2 probably never gonna happen due to the game being far too controversial...

Didn't Castlevania actually had a release recently?

The other frachises I don't really care to... but one I would like to point has been dead and I hope to see reborn every single day of my life is The Legend of Spyro.

Well, games in franchises like Assasins creed and COD sell well and make the most money.

The Burnout series might be dead as we know it, but the founders of the series are now working in their own indie studio, Three Fields Entertainment and they are working on a racing game (likely a spiritual successor to Burnout).

Well Crash didn't get recycle to boost up a shitty childish franchise like the Skylanders xD

Also I am not looking for the old platform style from PlayStation 1 games, I actually enjoyed the most of the actual The Legend of Spyro trilogy that came afterwards.

Dawn of the Dragon is still my most iconic xbox360 game ever, I like to call it tied up with Red Dead Redemption, A hack'n'slash semi-rpg with actually awesome story and solid main characters where you actually played as a dragon rather than some humanoid like every other similar game? Damn that was pure gold for me.

Not to mention the romance between Spyro and Cynder :3~

Supposedly there is another one in production (or at least there was at the time of this article). Four years is a long time in an Ubisoft exec's understanding of the calendar, but not so long that I'd assume the franchise has been abandoned.

Castlevania is sadly a Konami property, which means the brand's future is probably limited to themed pachinko machines in Japan. Koji Igarashi, the producer of the old Castlevania games, has a spiritual successor under development at the moment.

But what's up with Prince of Persia, I don't know about you guys but I am bored with same free running assassin creeds now.

Every year with slightly improved free run and graphics but same thing again and again - kill the templar and protect humanity

Saints Row 2 was my iconic 360 experience - old style GTA feel combined with character and amazing amounts of customisation.

Too bad the graphics held up REALLY poorly. Needs a reboot, now!

idk

More like downgrading than slightly improving, I actually really like the Assassins Creed 4 and Rogue a lot, tried Unity out and it was a gigantic disappointment, aside graphics that game was trashy for me... got so upset with it all I didn't even bothered playing Syndicate.

Burnout died with Criterion, acquired by EA and made NFS MW 2012.

i remember when they announced an extreme sports racing game back in e3 2014, but a year later they canned it because EA wanted them to develop star wars VR

1. Max Payne

rockstar is too busy milking GTA Online to bother with max payne. plus RDR 2. and with the amount of money GTA Online is bringing in i have suspicions that rockstar is shifting away from single player narratives

remedy could produce a spiritual successor

as for Bully, does one game make a franchise?

I'd rather get new original IP Tom Clancy games than ruining the legacy of the previous ones.

Burnout is not dead.

NFS Most Wanted is the latest incarnation just not as good as Paradise.

I like rainbow six siege tho..

i also played Vegas 2, and 3 black arrow. Those were all good games.

As for ghost recon I only have the 1st one, the demo for future soldier 1 and/or 2 and well that's it.

Would love another Max Payne if it was back to the structure of the first two games. MP3 stripped away all the atmosphere, level design and the story telling mechanics of the first two.

Large open maps with multiple roots, lots of TV and Radio shows to get lost in and that eerie, supernatural atmosphere. Plus all the over the top stereotypes. Those games were great.

The Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter games on the 360 were awesome at their time. So many hours wasted online in both 1 and 2. One franchise I wish to see again is the Project Gotham Racing series. PGR3 was my first 360 game on launch day back in 2005.

A new Burnout would be nice but if EA could just make an NFS that was as good as the original NFS: Most Wanted (2005) then no Burnout wouldn't be so hard to take,
