What ruins the game most for you?

For me the 2 main things that ruin the game utterly:

 

1.being forced to play a game as a female character, completely puts me out of the game and makes me feel like an observer, in fact the game is so ruined that I don't even consider playing/buying them in the first place, like: Tomb Raider, Transistor, Resident Evil: Revelations...so every game that has a female character.

And statistics clearly show that majority of gamers have the same sentiment.

 

2.animations, if the animations are not good the whole thing collapses, it lessens every other aspect of the game. In fact, I always considered animations to be far more important than graphics because animations can't age as Resident Evil 4 clearly demonstrates.

I play a game for the story, if its made for a female protagonist (such as tomb raider) I enjoy the game either way.

 

I also tend to mark games on there graphics as well and that's just silly but i cant help it!

What a dumb thing to say, the whole point of gaming is that it's an interactive, immersive experience.

For me games are ruined if the graphics are bad, but in contrast also, when my framerate is bad at ultra settings

The most important aspect is the gameplay/story though. E.g. is saints row not the most beautiful game but i LOVE it! ^.^

have you ever heard something called stuttering ? thats what i cant stand even if the game is 10/10 on ratings and even i love the concept i just wont attempt to play it if it is stuttering

I tend to prefer playing a female character in longer games (like mmos) Since if i am supposed to have the back of my character in front of my Eyes all the time then i prefer a more pleasant view

 

My ruining things

1- Bad Controls.. That just snaps me out of it completely. (dark souls with mouse and keyboard springs to mind)

2- Horrible voice acting. That just ruins it

3- Copy paste/uninspired story. Pisses me off

4- Constant crashing because a game runs out of memory... yes im looking at you bethesda!

5- Hackers in multiplayer games...

A female protagonist does not annoy me at all, I actually quite enjoy it. As long as the game is produced well it's not hard for me to get into it. What drives me away from a game however is stuff that ruins the immersion. It can be everything from poor voice acting, glitches or generally bad gameplay. I very easily get pissed at bad mechanics to the point where I will just stop playing a game.

never had this problem with bethesda, i did have it with bf3 but not with bf4 beta....

Walking past a guard after you've saved all of tamriel and hearing "i got to thinking.. maybe im the dragonborn.. i just don't know it yet" Just makes me go on a rampage..

 

And skyrim refuses to use more than 4 gigs of memory for me.. (16 installed, memtested and checked all sticks individually. And i had windows 7 64bit installed)

Gonna try it on windows 8 later with all dem ENB's and mods.. but i don't wanna be dissapointed again

Really terrible textures, lots of the voice acting at times (skyrim and oblivion for example have tons of npcs with the same voice), npc's actions that do not line up, General immersion ruining stuff.

I like my games to be immersive usually.

Next is: abusive Physical skill requirement ( quickscoping and shit).
