I envisioned this a while ago when they first debuted the "new and improved" Synapse that you couldn't use offline for some reason.

 

I love my corsair stuff to death.

Never knew Razer profiles are actually store in the cloud and when the server isn't working, it takes your Razer keyboard and mice along with it.

i wished logitech's gaming software saves my lighting preferences at boot / wake from sleep. because it keeps resetting it.. but this is way worse, so now i don't mind too much

Why would anyone think it's ever a good idea to only store the data in the cloud and not also locally in case the cloud fails, by default... That's like if Steam only put your saves on the cloud so the moment you're offline, you lose all your progress, doesn't make any sense.

I wish the RGB on Corsair mice will still work, when your machine is locked, instead of just displaying the static color. The purpose of RGB is to show off your product so others will say "WOW" and want one too. Now with out RGB in action and just the static colors, it's just like a basic mouse. What is the point of having RGB, when your hand is covering it.

Ok, always online on a hardware driver is the most apalling thing I've heard today. Glad I switched out of any Razer peripherals just last Friday

B-but why? I don't understand. Unless I'm missing something, the cloud storage thing is wholly unnecessary. Perhaps it could be useful as a backup; if the internal storage fails, you can still use the keyboard and store your settings, but as a default setting, it's just driving up costs (maybe it's insignificant, but still). Please, can anyone offer me an explanation? I have to be missing something obvious. You just don't say, "You know what we need? A gratuitous cloud storage system for our keyboards and mice when local storage has worked fine for years!" Right?

Need to see it from a business and not a consumer perspective to understand why they did this.

It makes this kinda misleading if you say that you can store profiles directly on your peripheral but when their servers go down you lose your profiles that "were saved on your peripheral" Its kinda like lying to everyone who thought they could save their profiles on their peripheral and not worry about server outages. BTW: Corsair FTW

It is razer, I don't think anyone should expect more.

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...
