Razer acquires Nextbit

i'd make the argument that at least an alienware laptop comes with all the ports you want and need and has the ease of upgradability and diy maintenance that razer won't offer and the rgb is only there because "g4m3rz"

That's why I got the 15 R3 over a Blade.  I was SO SO close to getting a Blade and almost ordered one the day before Alienware dropped their new lineup.  Good thing I waited.  Razer only added RGB because, like you said, 'G4m3rz'.  Alienware's traditionally have it.

What if they made it an x86 Windows 10 phone?

With full Windows 10?  And actually ran it decently?

I'd buy it.  If they ever do do that, hopefully they put like a Tegra in it or something.

Full Windows 10, Intel processor, Thunderbolt 3. Of course, it wouldn't even be a Core iX, but perhaps they could work some kind of overclocking with a cooling dock.

Razer is currently partnering with Lenovo (owner of Motorola)...

You do know how large the chips for x86-64 processors are right. Even thunderbolt 3 chips. And that would not be possible xD

I can just imagine a staff meeting for Delta

"how do we improve our products so that people will use them?"

"Good question"

"F*ck it let's put RGB lights on it"

-sales go up 200%-

I can't really make fun of people who like RGB lighting, seeing as I use an Alienware laptop on a daily basis.

They could do something like HP has done with the Elite X3, but should have Razer Core support and a built in IO hub into the main hub.

A long time ago before the first iphone you have them flip phones that came with the antennas. I remember you can go some phone shop and buy separate ones that has RGB in it to replace the stock ones, so when you are using the phone the antenna flashes. :D

They're probably buying them for any patents among other things, as usual. And I think if Razer is going to have their name on a phone, it'll be made of aluminum.

Also, not that anyone else won't see this coming, but the phone will be under the Blade moniker most likely and will feature some kind of mobile gaming features. I hope that it'll be a real product replacement for the Switchblade concept.

@Geek95 this might be interesting to add to the OP. They've been in talks about making a phone for a while.

Mobile does not necessarily mean phone. It's very possible they could also be looking for a mobile expert to help with LTE integration on tablets/laptops.

I'm on board with the idea that this acquisition isn't likely about phones, but I could be wrong.

Personal belief it's more likely about acquiring nextbit's staff and cloud expertise.
