Poll: How do you feel about your PC's noise levels?

I really don't care that much about the noise of my computers, well I mean unless it sounds like a 1u server, then otherwise no. Anyways is your computers very loud, or very quiet and peaceful like fall... Vote above or Comment below.

Currently i'm not happy with the acoustics on my machine.

The PSU has a fan that's a bit on the loud side, the fan on the H55 is a bit noisy as well, but the real problem is the blower on my video card, this thing is SO LOUD under load, and still makes a bit of noise in iddle.

Maybe next year i'll update the system, so the noisy components are going to come out.

On the other hand, the newly added pair of Noctua NF-B9 Redux fans are very quiet, i'm big fan of those little bastards.

The case fans on mine aren't PWM and my motherboard doesn't seem to control non PWM fans so they're stuck at 100%.  Kinda annoying, it was nice before I had them plugged in and the side panel off lol

My PC is 100% Fanless at idle save for the CPU fan, running at 200rpms

 

my PC isn't at load much at all, so I really don't care. when I am gaming, i am wearing a headset anyway

My PC is not as quiet as I wish it'd be... But as long as I can't hear it with my headphones on, I'm fine with it. It also helps that I have a 16inch fan on at all time as background noise.

My computer gets louder than a jet if I use all 16Gigs of RAM, and max the CPU. Other than that noise level, I couldn't care less what noise my PC makes unless it's moaning; in which case my cat unplugged my headphones.

I made a wrong decision. I chose Aerocool DS fans over Silent Wings 3s, and they are LOUDDDDDDDDDD. I had to get a 5V controller. I won't complain though. They push a LOT of air, so I guess that's the tradeoff.

I use a Define R4 windowless case and it is incredible for silence. When I first turned on my system after putting it together, I could not hear anything at all coming from inside the case which made for a panicky moment until I realized I had some output on my screen.

 

After installing 2 additional fans, one of them requiring a top panel to be removed from the case, noise levels at load are noticeably higher, but perfectly acceptable when headphones are on. Noise at idle is a soft, unobtrusive hum even with the removal of one top panel.

I don't care as long as it isn't screaming and ready to take off. I prefer having a little hum and have the joy of looking at super low CPU temps at idle

My PC really only starts to make noise when I'm either folding with the GPU or transcoding video with the i7, and even then, it's not all that loud. When doing non-intensive stuff like web browsing or programming, both the PSU's and GPU's fans are turned off, while the CPU's fan stays fairly quiet. With the built-in fan controller of the Define R5, I run all of the case fans at minimum voltage, which actually makes very little difference to internal temperatures even under load while making little to no noise. I am satisfied with this.

 

As for my previous PC that which houses an i3-6100 with the stock cooler, I can tell you from experience that at first, the cooler doesn't seem loud (it's not loud at all unless you're really pushing it), but the constant sound it makes even when idle kind of grew annoying over several months. I'm very tempted to buying an aftermarket cooler for this build before finally passing the PC onto another member of my family.

 

I'm not super anal about sound, but I personally feel that something that can be quieter should be.

I had a pair of OEM Power Mac Deltas on my PC, those were loud...

Joking aside, I can't hear mine at all when it's idling.  All the fans are PWM and controlled by the CPU header (*), so they turn so slow that you can read the "BeQuiet!" text on the 3 exhaust fans while they're spinning. 

The 5 intakes spin a little too fast for that though, they're only 120mm so they idle just a little higher.  Still, they make no noticeable noise. 

 

It's pretty quiet under load too.  As I write this it's 3ft from my right ear and F@H is maxing it out.  I'm only noticing the fans' wind noise because the thread caused me to pay attention to it. 

 

(*) : No worries, they get 12V from the PSU and only the PWM signal from the header.  I'm not going to connect ten 0.2A fans (2x CPU cooler, 8x case) to a header that's only rated for 1A by the manufacturer

I am pretty happy with how silent my PC is at idle and at load. It can always be quieter, but seeing that my case is pretty "open" (a perforated top) a more enclosed setup would help.

I don't have a problem with my PC noise but the others around me do. So if I adjust the fan curve to say 40% my parents assume my computer is overheating and I am mining Bitcoins to buy drugs. I am being serious. This is why I am planning to build a custom loop.

My PC used to be silent but I recently replaced the 212 EVO with a Seidon 120V. So the pump is a bit louder. But everything else is very quiet.

Im running a Rosewill Blackhawk Ultra. 5x140mm fans, and 8x120mm fans... My fans run on the lowest RPM at idle but as soon as I start rendering videos as well as exporting photos, all fans ramp to 100%. So much airflow... 0.o... So noise really does not bother me.

This thread made me get up to tweak fan profiles when I was casually in bed falling asleep with my phone...

 

System is now quieter, though I suddenly care about getting o rings for the keyboard now.
