Nike Self Lacing shoe details released

TidaLWaveZ

Nike has finally released details of the self lacing shoes that they will sell.

Nike confirmed to Mashable that the HyperAdapt will be on sale Dec. 1, just in time for the holiday shopping season. (Previous reporting had suggested a Nov. 28 release date.) And they won’t cost any potential buyer $1,000 a pair, as might be suggested in some rumors.

SOOO how do they work?

When you put your foot in the shoe it lights up, as a pressure sensor in the sole draws tighter an arrangement of fishing line inside. You adjust the fit with two buttons on the front. The laces on the front are just for decoration, sadly.

Pheww! We really lucked out that they aren't actually going to cost a thousand dollars.  Fortunately we will be able to pick up a pair for only $720. I for one will be rushing out to grab a pair instead of replacing my placeholder video card (GT710), the shoes are just more important.

In all seriousness though, $720 for a pair of shoes that just light up and automatically tighten. GTFO. Paying that much for a pair of shoes, nevertheless a pair that you can actually break is not appealing to me in the slightest bit, but everyone's entitled to their own opinion.

You don’t know some peoples’ shoe game, man. They will sell.

I'm sure they will, it's just my personal opinion in relation to my priorities.  I wouldn't even pay $200 for a pair of shoes.

So is it really fucking hard to just take 30 seconds to tie your own shoe and save like a tone of money? like you can get TN's, 95's, 90's, 2016's, 2015's, Jordans hell you can even get Stone Island and STILL save money

collectors will love it, some people will also not care about upgrading to 1440p from 1080p. its all priority preference.

It's probably cheaper to get a new video card and 1440p monitor!

You're right though I can't really criticize anyone interested because everyone is different, I can just offer my opinion.

Its not like the shoes are gonna last a whole life

They're lifespan has to be worse than normal shoes.

Honestly it depends on the person

For let's say someone who's gonna play sports in these shoes is not really gonna get far

I'm talking specifically about the addition of the lacing system, it just adds points of failure.  I can see the shoe itself being in fine condition but the lacing system breaking and rendering the shoe unwearable or a slip on at best.

that's not really my point lol. my point is that different people find different things more worth by the dollar. to them these nikes are more cost effective than upgrading to 1440p would be.

I find it hilarious how elaborate and over the top solutions like this seem like they will be more socially accepted than the Keep It Simple Stupid solution also known as Velcro.

You are tying your shoe laces wrong. It shouldn't take more than 3 seconds.

On top of the obvious laziness. I suppose it could be of help with someone who has trouble tying shoes or putting on velcro straps, but otherwise, I think this is just lazy.

I'll just use my shoes that were $50 that require manually tying them. I think my body can take that.

I just dropped 900 for a pair of Adidas.. 200 dollar shoes, nothing special, just harder to find colorway.

Wow! So expensive...seriously...the cost of this innovation is incredible. But I ask, do you think this will become the norm in the near future?

Because if it does, then this could be the beginning of history's biggest shoe revolution. Think about it - for how many millennia have humans been tying their own shoes? Now, it could all change, on a mainstream level (if it gets to that).
