The good news for you is that Kaby Lake is more of a refresh than anything else (so think between Devils Canyon/Broadwell compared to Haswell). i.e. who gives a shit

I especially liked the part where the article included no information about the iGPU. No GT2, GT3e, GT4e, etc. No core specs, no L4 information, nothing. To make a bold claim without including ANY helpful information is just clickbait. 

 

Those of you that already bought Skylake CPU's, don't worry. I highly doubt the cores themselves will be any faster compared to Skylake. If you had no intentions of using an iGPU before, this release will not satisfy you. Kaby will be to Skylake, what Broadwell was to Haswell.

Yeah. Technically, we have GT4e Skylake mobile SKU's already. Kaby Lake is going to be an odd, niche release I think. I can't imagine it being any faster than normal Skylake from a CPU vs CPU standpoint. Even if its iGPU is better, it won't be cheap enough to justify the purchase in my eyes, unless the i5's at $250 come equipped with GT4e, which I can't see happening (would undercut the 6600k heavily).

Whoever wrote that article clearly is a tech noob. Lemme quote Techviral:

What the hell? Why are you talking about the radeon pro ssd? First of all it's ssg; second of all that's a board that hasn't even been sent to early devs yet, not to mention it's not even meant for gaming!!!

At the beginning they say the Kaby Lake iGPU can handle 4k with ease. The only 4k thing that apparently was actually showed was playing a video. I'm pretty sure that most iGPUs today can handle 4k video playback... 

 

Oh yeah, I think I forgot to mention they have no source whatsoever, and don't give Wikipedia credit for that copy and pasted paragraph. 

 

Basically, Techviral is actually Technoob.
