Your 1080 doesn't have a price listed on PCpartpicker, so it's over 1700.

The price definitely was listed, when I made this list.

Well, I'll have to adjust that. Thanks for informing me of it!

All-round PC / Virtualization / Gaming / VR ready / Cherry MX

This build is not only for gaming but for a lot of things, you can run Virtualization with ease, run it as a server and even game since the Xeon processor will go up to 3.5 GHz.

You have a lot of potential to grow. Throw a second RX 480, another 16GB stick, Instal UnRAID and you are ready for 2 gamers  1 CPU.

The RAM stick can be upgraded to ECC for an extra $5, but the builder wouldn't let me!

All this for the grand total of $1690.65

CPU   $419.99 Buy
CPU Cooler   $61.94 Buy
Motherboard   $174.98 Buy
Memory   $74.99 Buy
Storage   $159.88 Buy
Video Card   $269.99 Buy
Case   $75.99 Buy
Power Supply   $86.98 Buy
Monitor   $179.00 Buy
Keyboard   $89.91 Buy
Mouse   $97.00 Buy
Total: $1690.65

I use a $50m linux machine pretty often. ;)

I'm amazed how much you can get for $1700 today, did not expect to get a good 4K system.

Built around the Acer XR341CK, 21:9 Curved Ultrawide, 3440X1440 LED IPS with Free-Sync. Had to make some compromises to stay within the budget with poor keyboard/mouse but i would happily deal with that for the ultrawide. There is room and power for a second RX 480 for future upgrade.

It's not sexy. Won't overclock. Isn't a master gamer. It is a great all-around system. Powerful cpu, enough memory, fast storage, decent gaming, and quiet operation.

Yes, the winner was chosen. The video is out on Vessel if you have a subscription: https://www.vessel.com/videos/ONhf_vgjR

If you don't have a Vessel subscription, it should be out on YouTube on August 30, I believe.

No, this thread is wrong. The FX 9590 will only perform the same as an i5 3340 even at 5ghz.

http://pcpartpicker.com/list/L8wjZ8 too easy Luke, rethink your choices, the reason why I chose the 9590 so that you can overclock it past 5.0 Ghz.  LOLOLOL. Also, dual rx 480, tututut.  a 250 gb Samsung ssd, 2 tb wd black hdd.   #TOOEASY

9590 at 5ghz ?

You need at least 1200mm of external radiator space and a fire extinguisher to support that, i'm afraid the H60 won't do the job.
