But most people are not going to self-lubricate the fan bearings and sleeves hate horizontal mounting so like eeerggghh

It's probably worth putting a note on that....I think, a lot of SFF cases put the PSU sideways.

There's gotta be better and worse sleeve bearings though. I doubt Corsair gave the CXMs a 5-year warranty if they don't expect the fan to last 5 years in the most common position, which would be horizontally.

 

(And here I can brag about having my CXM vertically mounted. <3)

Agh, this is the thing that sucks though. Sure, SFF PSUs will often be mounted vertically but... hmmm, should note that.

I think any PSU that's knocked down because of a simple fan should be noted as such (maybe note what tier it would be in without a sleeve bearing fan).

We could put those PSUs in Italics signaling that yes electrically it's Tier blah, but it has a sleeve bearing fan and that makes it decidedly less reliable

I'll probably highlight PSUs in a color. I also drew out the "How do I grade these things" spoiler to have more insight about sleeves.

The asterisk is a bit hard to see in night theme, not sure about day theme. How about coloring the whole PSU model? Or just an automatic font asterisk

I don't really notice it, but then again I'm color blind and small dots of color can be hard to notice for me. 

 

@Energycore I just check day theme and it's even harder to see.

Hmm, I use the night theme and have no trouble.

 

I did triple asterisk. I might change it later but for now I have to go.

IMO the *** isn't a very good idea, only tells you that it could be higher without the sleeve fan, not which tier it could have been in. I'd stand by @djdwosk97 suggestion.

The triple asterisks is less cumbersome, which is good. And while it may be nice to know, you're talking about if a PSU is tier 1 or tier 2, which isn't the biggest deal. Frankly I basically merge the two tiers in my head anyway.

yeah, but there's gonna be some that'll want to know which tier it belongs to without the fan. I'd suggest just putting 1 asterisk for a tier 1 and 2 asterisks for tier 2 rather than 3 for all of them.
