I'm going to assume they may be updating the 450/500/600B to these new platform as well, as the EVGA 700B and the 650-750BQ (semi-modular unit) are based on the same DC-DC platform, which these Andyson will also have DC-DC. This upgrade is understandable, if they want to conformed to the latest ATX12V 2.4 standard as well as compete with Corsair's new CXM (and non-modular one that will soon be release) and other units like it (Antec VPF / Neo Eco II / new Earthwatt Green, Cooler Master GM / GX Storm edition, etc) in this price range.

Unless for some reason EVGA decided to brand 2 different platforms with the same name.

Hopefully there's an EVGA 450BQ that's semi modular and at least T4, that would compete with the CX450M pretty well if it's cheap enough.

They are not HEC because Orion says they are Andyson. Read here http://www.jonnyguru.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12775&page=5

EVGA did it then, they branded two platforms the same. That's a first for them IIRC.

So the 650W, 750W, 850W are all HEC, but the lower watts ones are Andyson.

Well, I trust Andyson not to fuck up computers xD

Andyson does have bad units. I'd liken them more to CWT than to Seasonic really.

Corsair has released a limited edition RM1000i which is snow white and comes with white sleeved cables.

Only 100 are going to be "made" (I image more would be made so if some break down, someone doesn't pull a hissy fit.)

I would imagine that with only 100 being made, they can afford to manually hook up each one and thoroughly test it by hand

Solve your own audio issues  |  First Steps with RPi 3  |  Humidity & Condensation  |  Sleep & Hibernation  |  Overclocking RAM  |  Making Backups  |  Displays  |  4K / 8K / 16K / etc.  |  Do I need 80+ Platinum?

If you can read this you're using the wrong theme.  You can change it at the bottom.

I think 1000 will be made, not 100, but nonetheless it's an RM1000i painted white so

I mean, you could pull that off without paying corsair a bunch of money, but I bet it voids your warranty. Also an LED fan, isn't that fancy?

Should I get the EVGA Supernova B2 750W for $129, or save up a bit more for the Supernova G2 750W at $155? I kind of need to replace my CX850M (it will be relegated to use in my low power, low use legacy rigs-the coil whine is too annoying, plus it does cause issues with my GTX 970, from I think its voltage stability-which would explain the way my computers act at times with it, and not my older PSU).

The main conundrum is that both PSU turn out to be really good compared to the CX850M, and cost less than it did as well (buying through an online store this time):

The B2 - http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story6&reid=393

The G2 - http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&file=print&reid=380

The CX850M - http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story6&reid=427

You'll be just fine with a 750W B2 honestly. Only think about the 750G2 if you really want the semi-passive fan mode for silence and shit.

I am assuming you are from Australia, because of the pricing.

The GQ and XFX XTR is inbetween the G2 and B2 in price, I think you should also consider that.

I'd just get the B2, but if you want a fully modular PSU, the G2 or XFX XTR are great choices.

It causes problems with my GTX 970 G1 Gaming (primarily stability) that I don't get surprisingly enough with the Corsair VS650 or the 400W (500W Peak) thermaltake PSU that came with my old case. I'm also concerned about its longevity with the amount of coil whine it has-even with just my 4790K+8GB DDR3 1333+60GB SSD connected.
