The 1080 does get a bit close, but whether this is due to demand or AIBs making use of the "founders pricing" this gets me worried about the 1060 price.

Worry? People will buy them just the same as 1070 and 1080. This will be the best selling xx60 card ever. Because it's Nvidia.

BTW, only a joke

The citation is there (pcpartpicker), it's the image that is wrong. I copied the 1070 prices twice; it should be updated now.

I don't, top one is 1070, bottom 1080. Refresh your cache most likely.

Frankly it could sell well even if it stays above 280 dollars. As long as it can perform like a 980 (even if only with overclocks) and doesn't get too hot on the blower coolers (stays under 79C so you can get a good OC).

nVidia being aggressive. I like it. If it performs like a 980, it'll definitely trample the 480. If someone can stretch their budget just a bit more, you've got yourself a helluva card.

GOOD GOD NVIDIA -_-

If this pricing is true, then it'll cost $50-$80 more than the most expensive RX 480 in my country. damn

sooo, rx 480 won this generation ?

Won what? This generation is only starting, and the winners wont be clear for some time yet. If these claims are true, the 1060 will be a bit faster for a bit more money... so... take your pick on performance or brand. No doubt the arguments will continue on to the 1050 and 460/470 also.

If it starts at 250, and performs slightly better than the RX 480 (like the leaks, which might be complete bollocks, suggests) then that's great. Still kind of disappointed by the small price:performance jump this generation though. Should have been way bigger since we got such a big node shrink.

My only worry right now is stock. The 1070 and 1080 are selling like hot cakes which is driving the prices up. Hopefully they will have more 1060s.

Also, according to VideoCardz, the press release for Gigabyte's G1 Gaming version of the GTX 1060 has already been leaked. Hopefully that means we will get custom cooler versions not too long after launch. Not going to buy a founders edition.

Anandtech has posted about it too.

Will be available the 19th (both FE and custom designs WOHO!!).

Ryan Smith says that it will probably have 48 ROPs (no official number released yet).

The "The performance of GTX 980" slide that was leaked is an official one and Ryan guesses that it should come pretty close.

Confirmed that the FE version does not have any SLI finger(s). We don't know if they will appear on third party versions though (probably not).

Still be waiting for at least 2-3 weeks for those AIB 480's, so you can be sure people will pay 50 dollars more for the millennium Falcon Edition 1060.

:/ Love Australian prices. Seeing as the 480 8 gb is 450ish I'd expect somewhere around 520

There are 4GB version at around $320 AUD and 8GB at $380 AUD at PC Case Gear, they are going down fast.

I don't read the reply to my posts anymore so don't bother.

Quote me here, the GTX 1060 and RX 480 will be within 10% of each other, even closer with overclocking.

As far as I'm aware, this is due to demand. Retailers have been marking the GPUs past MSRP, similar to AMD's cards during the Litecoin mining craze.

Most of the reasons I'm saying this is EVGA and MSI have both stated the MSRP on their cards, yet neither of them have touched that pricing through retailers. EVGA's website however is still displaying prices and is offering the option to purchase directly through EVGA, but the cards are always out of stock.

if you have to insist you think for yourself, i'm not going to believe you.

Wait does no one see the shady business move by nvidia here? LOL why does no one see this. I'm not a fanboy Btw I low my gtx 970 with all its 3.5gb Lol but look guys this card performs as good as 980 right? NO SLI BECAUSE WHY WOULDN'T people buy 2 and bam 1080 performance for 500$ vs 650$ easy..... Here is the thing okay what nvidia does is usually price their products so that you can't get better price with SLI because they price their products accordingly they would've loved to price  this card at 350 dollars but they were against the wall with the rx 480 if they didn't launch a card a lot of sales would've been rekt so what's the best way to he shady? Remove SLI and all possibility of 1080 performance for cheaper.... So pathetic....

Well, given that the 1060 is supposed to be on par with a 980, and that a 480 is about 10% slower than a 980, I'd say that's a pretty safe assumption.
