Using mayonnaise as thermal paste?

I ordered thermal paste from amazon but it wont get here until july 24th. I looked online for some alternatives and I found This article that shows mayonaise doing quite well at keeping the cpu nice and cool (going from 88 to 48 degrees). Good idea? Thanks for reading!

It will work, and stink. Most cpu coolers come with paste. Id also personally use it without thermal paste until it came in the mail.

now that you've mentioned it, i wonder how a cooked mayonnaise taste be like
but i agree with everyone else,better wait than end up with a cpu sandwich

I'd rather buy generic paste from Best buy than use mayo.

 

Might as well complete the meal. Lettuce for hard drive trays, mayo for tim, wrap the wiring in thinly sliced lunch meat. Gatorade in the cooling loop, and bread for "breadboarding" it.

But I can't bear to think how much heated egg and oil must utterly stink. I also dread to think how difficult to clean it must be, because of its oily nature.

.... um... ya. How about no? The smell would be terrible! Prob be a pain to clean. How can someone actually come up with "hey, let's use Mayo as thermal paste and see what happens!". But.... just a thought here. What if you used bacon as a thermal paste? Just instead of paste just drop a little strip of bacon on. That I would accept. Nothing like gaming and eating a piece of bacon then right afterwards your pc is fried.

Just get a fx 9590 and use a pan instead of a cpu cooler to fry some bacon.

After spending $300 to mobo and CPU you are willing to risk both just because you can't wait? Whats the reason for getting new paste anyway? FYI mayo can oxide and corrode metal, like any organic and with high water content. Besides you are making mess all over mobo. Even with thermal paste there's risk that conductive material gets into pins or socket and cleaning is pain. Bigger pain than waiting few weeks.

another good  thermal paste  is sperm  xD since mayo is a mess :D but really you better off waiting till you have good TIM  or running without thermal paste and just letting it thermal throttle non stop
