AMD Polaris 10 and Polaris 11 Specifications leak

Guys listen... if the full POLARIS 10 GPU has a core clock of 1,4GHz (it is possible, because those mobile parts have apparently a core clock of 1,3GHz and above), than the total performance of this GPU would be 2x2340x1,4=6,552 TFLOPS, which is right in the GTx 1070 performance category.

problem is, Flops doesn't tell the whole story. If it did, the 390x would decimate the 980, and TitanX would be getting utterly destroyed by the furyX.

That´s the thing, I don´t know if AMD has worked on their dx11 drivers overhead (look at dx12 performance... a R9 390 is almost at gtx 980ti level of performance) an on their instruction set to make those GPU more efficient. Well, they don´t have to be as good, remember GTX 970 vs GTX780ti? It was like 4TFLOP vs 5TFLOP, and the gtx 970 was the winner in that situation.

The 390 is at 980ti performance in DX12 because in 980ti is struggling in dx12 for what ever reason....in DX11 the 390 is never going to get anywhere near at 980ti, even if AMD managed to get their driver overhead sorted....

 

I am surprised at these specs, and i hope they are close to true, i wasn't expecting these cards to be clocked so high (1100mhz at most), if they are given how efficient GCN is AMD should be on to a winner here....Fury or better perfomance, can't knock that, especially at $299, and AMD might actually make a card that overclocks well this time.

Tbh, a 290 used to be really cheap even here at ~$300. 960/760 cost around $250 at the same time. That $50 would have been well worth it.

 

An R9 390 right now is ~$450. No thanks AMD.

I know someone who got a brand new Sapphire Tri X 290x from newegg for $260. I remember the MSI Lightning R9 290x below $300. I'm pretty sure the XFX Double Dissipation R9 290x was selling as low as $260. They were routinely under $300.

As far as consumption improvements, price / performance it looks to be amazing. Can't wait to see reveal. Though, Vega will be my go to :3

Actually it hasn't, because that rumor did not exist in the first place. The rumor was that there were issues with Polaris, forcing AMD to miss a Computex launch. But not only has AMD said "nope" to those rumors, but Polaris is not Vega. They're different things, I mean Vega uses HBM2 which drastically changes how the whole thing is put together.

 

So it's taking a dubious rumor and stretching it waaay beyond what it was even about.

 

Like... Vega could be total crap for all I know, but this is just completely baseless speculation.

But I think Nvidia will launch the big pascal 1080ti etc to go head-to-head with Vega 10.

 

Either way if you already have a decent GPU it makes sense to wait until the end of the year because not only will the Vega 10 vs big pascal competition directly benefit the consumers, it will drive down the price of the 1080 as well. Whereas now the 1080 is unsurpassed and therefore commands a premium...

I doubt it'll do much to 1080 prices, the 980 Ti only dropped the 980 by $50. 1080Ti will probably just be $700 or more. But no way we're seeing 1080Ti in Q4 2016. We're not even going to see a Titan that early considering the P100 doesn't go up for sale in Tesla cards until January. I think AMD has priority access to HBM2 since they helped develop it, so they're gonna get the first crack at releasing an HBM2 gaming gpu with Vega. I hope it's not just Vega 11 that gets it though, as I always like to buy the cut down versions of cards since they're usually so much better in price to performance vs full dies (eg HD 7950 vs HD 7970, GTX 670 vs GTX 680, GTX 970 vs GTX 980, R9 290 vs R9 290x, etc).

Oh yeah definitely. Expect custom PCBs with a 6 pin and an 8 pin. AIBs love overclocking :P

If vega 10 is 4096 cores and Vega 11 is 6000+ cores (one or both cards using 2+ dies together on a single module that is recognized as a single GPU die by windows), Im sure even V10 will beat a 1080. If not, AMD are wasting their time in the gpu industry. 

I don't know, Fury X killed 980 Ti on specs (way moar corez, way more memory bandwidth) but loses to it in gameplay, not to mention overclocking. Last time I bought a GPU on paper specs (Radeon 8500 instead of GeForce 3 Ti 500) I ended up a bit disappointed.

I dunno if this has already been stated, but I'm going to say it anyway.  I just hope AMD doesn't do what they did with their CPUs by just making mainstream products but with GPUs. I still want Nvidia to have a little completion in the market so it pushes them to make better GPUs.  If AMD fails to make high end GPUs, I feel like we're not going to be advancing in GPU architecture as much as other years in the past.  Just stating my opinion.

VEGA is their highend product with HBM2, that will battle Big Pascal (1080ti / Titan X successor). So don't worry. Polaris might not beat 1080 though.
