GTX960 4GB FTW to wait for PASCAL, good idea?.

RRGT19

Hi,

I'm without GPU right now, PASCAL will be released soon, maybe 1-2 months I guess.

But now what?, I want to play jeje, the graphics of my i7-6700 is not enough.

I was thinking on this GTX960:

EVGA GeForce GTX 960 4GB FTW GAMING ACX 2.0+, 04G-P4-3969-KR

$239.99 & FREE Shipping

What do you think?.

I could buy a cheaper GTX960 but, the difference is only a few dollars more, with that graphic card I can have more FPS until PASCAL is released.

While the 750ti doesn't really match the 960 in performance, it's half the cost and still a really good card.

720p60fps is a great target for it at high settings in games like The Witcher 3 and Dying Light

If you're looking for something to hold you over, I HIGHLY suggest the 750ti because it's exactly what I am using right now too.

Should have kept the GTX 980Ti...

Wait... or get a R9 380 if you can't.

I'd go for the $120 simply for what ever that $6 is worth lol.

I use this one:

It's the only single slot 750ti and it comes with a low profile bracket too. You can also take the fans off with 4 phillips screws to make it truly single slot, passivly cooled.

My reason for choosing this card is when I get my pascal card I can put this into a tiny tiny PC to put in my living room.

This is $95. It also requires no 6 pin connectors, so you can use it in a cheap OEM PC or HTPC later on. It's pretty ugly, but you only need a stop-gap card for now anyways.

If you want to play now go to ebay and get a used 570 2.5gb or something the like for 60$.

It will play every game you want with decent framerate and settings, and when you get the new gpu you can sell

it again and just lose some $ on shipping and ebay fees or keep it and stick it in an old c2quad pc for your tv or something.
