I'd give a DasKeyboard Ultimate 4 to my brother, Oliver, who types stories in his freetime. He has a bad habit of looking down at his keys as he types, and he keeps trying to get rid of it. He's currently rocking a NMB RT8256CW+ keyboard, which is pictured below. He complains about how it double-presses and misses keystrokes often, so I think this would brighten it up.
As far as I'm aware of, it's plug-and-play with the Daskeyboard, which is great because plugging in a USB device is about as tech-savvy as he gets.

A home theater surround sound audio system for my mom

She has very bad hearing loss and can't quite hear the television, even with her hearing aids

I'm hoping that if she gets this sound system she might be able to enjoy movies just like before her hearing declined   :)

EDIT:

http://www.amazon.com/Jaybird-Sport-Wireless-Bluetooth-Headphones/dp/B013HSW694

I've actually kind of changed my mind. I think it would be better to get my lil' bro some workout earbuds so that he'll come to the gym with me. He's kinda overweight and I know for a fact that the only reason he doesn't work out with me is because he can't listen to his music. This'll basically force him to come work out and maybe be a little healthier. Plus his favorite color is blue so that's why I want him to have the X2's and not the X's.

Thanks!!

R9 290 http://www.amazon.com/Sapphire-VAPOR-X-PCI-Express-Graphics-11227-09-40G/dp/B016EYCY4A/

For my brother.

I'm introducing my brother to the world of gaming and I believe if he gets a good video card, he will definitely appreciate gaming as much as I do. We could then have a common ground and establish a better relationship since we have something in common.

Hi Linus

The gift that i think would be great for a non techie is the Canary Security System

http://www.amazon.com/Canary-All--Security-Device-Black/dp/B00NW31YSE/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1449490683&sr=1-1&keywords=canary&refinements=p_n_shipping_option-bin%3A3242350011

The gift comes in under 300 and has international shipping to New Zealand which is where i'm from, I would like to gift this to my Grandmother as she lives far away from family and often travels to come stay with us, This leaves her belongings unprotected and she lives on a busy road. I would like to get this for her so she can feel more secure and safe when she is not home. I believe the product has a variety of sensors so this would be useful to alert her to any issues that occur when not home. I taught her how to use an iPad this year so the canary would work perfectly with that. Also once it is installed she can easily monitor it whenever she wants without complications. The canary system i believe would really be useful, i could even monitor it remotely to see if any issues occur (ie she falls or has an accident allowing us to notify a neighbour)  I appreciate that your spending your money on gifts for others and would love to offer this to her as a gift this Christmas.

Thanks fro the offer, Hope i can hear from you.

Mitchell.

(Also I've wrote this 2 times now cause my browser kept crashing but hopefully still sounds all right)

I would probably want to get my little brother a nice pair of headphones. He plays guitar a lot, but he uses these terrible $10 logitech headset's from Walmart that keep breaking every single time he wiggles the cable. A nice pair of cans would probably improve his guitar experience, being able to actually hear the sound properly.

People don't need to understand the tech to benefit from it. I own a pair of HD 518's, and i understand little about audio tech, yet i know it sounds better than the earbuds i used on my PC. Things like SSD's and better headphones are a universal upgrade for pretty much anyone, regardless of how well they understand something. Luckily, i already upgraded everyone in my immediate family to SSD's, so i won't be needing any of those for a while :)

My bride is concluding her third year at architecture school and still doesn't know why the ultra slow rendering speed at 3D programs on her i3 pre-built setup with NO off-board graphics card! Yes folks, u heard it! On-board video for 3d rendering!

So my gift is a Gtx 960 4Gb ASUS STRIX that will help her a lot! And leave my computer to me and my games

(Yes, a Quadro would be a better choice, but this is the best option in the price range!)

Sorry for the bad english, Brazilian here  :P

So I've been helping my younger brother with his first PC and I wanted him to have something nice to go with it. Our parents already had gotten him a nice mouse (Razer Deathadder) for his birthday, but he is stuck with a horrendous Dell Rev A02 keyboard. So I thought this might suit quite well.

Good luck to all of you and have a Happy Holidays.

I have been teaching my grandma how to use a computer this year, but unfortunately, she cant afford a computer of her own. I bring over my school laptop and she checks her email (even that is "The most confusing thing" to her) and I help her do simple tasks like opening programs, downloading stuff, shopping online and much more. If she had her own laptop, she could go to the local community center and take a class to help her better hew knowledge of computers. She does not need anything powerful, simply usable. The laptop I linked below will fit her just fine!

Thanks!

I'd love to get this for my parents. They've been on Time Warner Cable service for over 3 years and have been upgraded to 300mbps service for free about 4 months ago. Sadly their current modem (Motorola SBG6580) can only handle 100mbps. Thanks for this thoughtful giveaway and happy holidays!

I would give a Chromebook 2 to my gf who is a music major and English minor at the university, where we met.

She is currently using my Windows laptop, that I let her borrow with a battery life of 4hrs, that I have made as user friendly as best as I can for her so she can run her composing applications. She's at school most of the day since her major is pretty demanding, and the battery life of my laptop just doesn't cut it.

During Valentine's day this year, I built her a APU desktop for her to use instead of the laptop whenever she's at home, which is a significant improvement from the laptop to run the composing applications. But during the day, she at school and the laptop doesn't quite cut it for her in battery life.

With the Chromebook 2, it will be a significant boost in battery life that it will last during her time at the university but with the downside of not being able to run her composing applications. Thanks to Google however, I can install Chrome Remote Desktop on the Chromebook to allow her to remote on her desktop to run her composing software. So she'll have best of both worlds, good battery life for her to write her papers and the ability to run her composing application by remoting to her desktop.

Thanks for the giveaway. My comment is rather late because prices change and I wanted to choose them relatively close to the actual draw so it will be less likely that the price will change.

I want to give my brother a storage upgrade for his PC, he is not very techie, but he is always complaining about games with a lot of load times and he has a lot of games and other things. So I was thinking of two Samsung 850 EVO 500GB to put games and other things on. Right now they are $147, so two of them will still be under $300. If you prefer to not send two parts even if both of them together are still under $300, or the price has changed to make them over $300, I will take the crusial BX200 960GB which is exactly $299.99 hopefully it won't go up in the next two days.

Hey guys, so this is something I stumbled upon when looking for a DIY like gift for my little cousin. I love electronics of all kinds and like you said in the video It's difficult sometimes to explain things to people and have it just fly over their head. Now what if THEY could troubleshoot themselves and learn something from it as well!? My Gift idea is something called "littleBits Gizmos & Gadgets Kit"(http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0147YATSW/ref=s9_al_bw_g21_i1) for my little cousin. This is something i'm very excited about and might consider getting a kit for myself to tinker with. It's something that I hope can inspire my cousin, whose in grade 9, to be creative and invent something cool while learning a little about the electronics he gets to enjoy everyday!
