[Rumor] Fury X2 paper launch before 2016 - $1070 launch price

CommandMan7

I doubt it'll be lower than ~1500$ if it follows the same 300% of the price of 1 GPU that the 295x2 and Titan Z followed... If it's 2 Fury X's I think they'd need a 140mm+ radiator since a single Fury X runs at ~65 C.

Just remember: Random people on the internet ALWAYS know more than professionals, when someone's lying, AND can predict the future.

VRAM pooling is only going to be possible if we see game engines and developers actively supporting explicit multiadapter unlinked GPUs... Which to be completely honest, I don't see happening in the near future.

I love the possibility and promise of DX12, but sadly it requires capability and investment from developers which I don't see happening.

I know, that's why I said "imagine". ;)

A lot of people are putting too much hype on DX12. While it will add support and capabilities that were never possible before, you're totally right, it will fall on the shoulders of the devs to incorporate these new features into their games. I think it will be a slow transition, unfortunately.

1800$??? lol the titan z was 2 titan black and was 3000$, I don't expect it to be as low as 1800$

Highly doubt it.

i feel like this is such an incredibly small niche market. it has to be someone who wants this much power but what only has 1 PCI 3.0 Slot? anyone could achieve the same perf or better out of Dual Furrys and Dual 980ti with a similar price point and for a decent amount of time already no waiting for this card. it is rumored that this will be decently power efficient but does someone who spends 1100 on just one graphics card really care about spending $50 bucks more on a power supply or a couple dollars a year in electric.   Though it is a cool card i would love one to drive my 4k moinitor but i would be just as happy with 2 furry X's aswell.  would be better if they raised the ram limit a bit but are they able to do that with the current HBM on the Furrys?

Here's a very feasible case:

1) New user doing first build

2) Wants 4k

3) 2500 budget

4) 1k on this card, 1.5 k on a skylake build

Done. Actually on this forums a lot I've seen people requesting such systems. At 1k for dual Full Fiji seems perfect for high end budgets but someone who is just not experienced enough for a custom water loop system and such.

If one 120mm rad was able to cooldown 2 hawaii gpus ( 295X2) then i think that one 120 mm rad will be good  for 2 Fiji gpus, in regard to price i agree that will be around 1500$

*medium thick 120mm rad

personally, i think a medium thick 140mm would be a good choice here. mostly due to reduction in fan noise. Larger fan - less noise

less case compatibility though

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

oh who cares. this product is blatantly for the enthusiasts. No common mortal will have the PSU or money or even the need to buy this product. An enthusiast usually have such a case that can handle a 140mm rad anyway, because we buy proper, well designed and laid out cases. Not some generic shit with a "insert OEM company logo here" logo on the front

There are a lot of good cases that only have 120mm rear fan mounts. It's fairly new to see 120/40 combo mounts.

Seasonic 750w?

uhm... if this card uses 2x 8pin, then not a good idea.... your rails are single rail... meaning each 8pin is limited to 20amps max...

you'd be running on the limit of your rail... any flucutation and the PSU would either trip a safety switch or the GPU would throttle.

I however DO have the PSU to run this card... two, maybe three of them infact :P

case without 140mm fan mount -> not enthusiast enough man....

yeah, i havent seen many of those around... a 40mm rear fan would be rather useless though

It will be awesome to see the size of this card :D
Though would've been nice if it wasn't limited to 4GB of HBM1 but oh well.

Titan X is dead - 295X2 is faster by a lot and even the 980 Ti is better

The 295x2 is about 4% faster for the record. And if you put a water lock and backplate on the Titan X, the 295x2 loses. Further, not every game has a crossfire profile.

It's more tha 4% - in some games 295X2 is 20fps faster, in other it's only 4fps faster

@don_svetlio

@patrickjp93

It's hard to say, but at launch the 295x2 had a clear advantage. I can't find any recent 295x2 benchmarks, but I do know over time, drivers and game optimizations have led the Titan X closer and closer, and I believe that currently they are about neck and neck. The 20 FPS difference for 295x2 seems just to be due to the titan X's immature launch drivers. I do know that my friend's 295x2 has very very spotty crossfire support - a lot of the time it seems the 970 I bought from him performs better, due to the fact he only runs at 720p because he forgot to save any money for a screen. A lot of people forget that the Titan X is beating the 295x2 nowadays, due to the fact that there hasn't really been any direct benchmark comparisons since the Titan X's launch. So yeah, ancient benchmarks are part of the problem.
