Fictionvl

That just happens when you grow up, not necessarily with gaming, but with interests in general.

Hmm, this so far only happened to me with gaming, I still love computers, electronics and whatnot.

What do you reckon are the reasons? I really don't like adulthood so far...

I hope Fallout 4 can reignite my interest in games

I just need a new Skyrim like game.. That will most likely help me get back to gaming

It's normal. I used to do nothing but game.

Now I run a business, I have a wife, I have kids...

I still enjoy games and I make time for it when I can, but it happens in smaller doses because I just can't afford to spend 3 hours at a time grinding dungeons in Torchlight or whatever anymore.

It's normal. I have a feeling it's more to do with there not being enough games that interest you more than ones that you've already played. Least that's how it is for me.

I'm still waiting on that gem of a game that'll get me hooked again.

Yeah, but I still do have plenty of time to game, but I just don't, everytime I think about playing a game, I stop and find something else to do.. Really weird stuff

I'm sorry for being a fanboy, but man does it so good the fact that Mr. Linus commented on a post I've made.

I hope I get hooked back in, as much as how gaming almost ruined my life, it's the only thing I find my self happy when doing.

Not sure how you feel about early access titles, but Killing Floor 2 runs great and is very polished for an early access game.

And you don't need to play it for hours on end to get any "good stuff". You jump into a match and start killing shit.

As humans, our taste change as we age.

Now if you were a robot that is mean't to calculate the outcome of a game, I'd be worried.

I think it's normal. Currently  there are only a few games that really catches my interest because I've played a lot of games from most genres. Some times it feels like the same game again and again.

One of the "wonders" of gaming (at least for me) is the sense of discovery. There are new worlds to explore.

Here's what I suggest: Try to minimize gaming. Find a new hobby. Go outside. After a while, go back and play. Maybe, just maybe, you'll feel that something feeling like when you first started gaming. (This is why I avoid Fallout 4 spoilers :D :D)

No.  It is not normal, you have contracted a disease known as resistance to escapist fantasy.  This is a TERRIBLE thing to be afflicted with, you dream less, and are more preoccupied with mundane things in life vs the stars and the heavens.  Other worlds and universes, is your life so rich and wonderful that you are completely contented to live in it and bask in that alone?

NOT ME !!!!!!!!!!!!

For I am not so free, but then my tastes and dreams cannot be sated by the constraints of reality.  I want to travel the stars, other worlds, other dimensions.  I want to wield cosmic power.  If these desires are absent within you, you are too occupied with the mundane of the world to desire the heavens.

No greater pity can possibly be granted from me.  For the sake of the universe, I hope the spark finds a way to live again, otherwise you will fade into the real world, lost to time.

I am impelled not to squeak like a grateful and frightened mouse, but to roar...

I do have other hobbies, I love working with electronics, I also do go out with friends from time to time, I go to events and what not.

I guess I'll need to find a game that gets me hooked I guess..

This was beautiful to read but, I really do think I'm getting sucked into the mundane world..

Could be you're burning yourself out.

Take a long break, do something completely different. Clear your mind.

Then look for that one game you could throw your wallet at without thinking.

I think I solved this.
Child-Teen: Massive Gamer
Adult: Meh.

Elderly: Rock on Dude ! Source: http://esports.inquirer.net/6005/the-real-old-man-dota-66-year-old-grandpa-plays-dota-2-all-day

Anyway, just don't force yourself to play. It's like using your favorite song as your alarm.

Same. High School student taking college classes and working 35 hours a week to boot lmao. No motivation to pick up a controller anymore; or to start a movie. No motivation for anything really huh?

Shipping sucks
