Windows is a piece of software.

Mac is a piece of hardware.

The software cannot function without hardware,

The hardware can function because it comes with software.

Therefore your argument is invalid, and I would rather have a working Mac over a disk that does nothing any day.

In the case of Intel vs AMD, right now it's a 1 sided choice, choosing AMD is basically gimping yourself bc all their CPUs are what? 4 years old now? There's also no upgrade path.

How did you come to the theory that Mac is hardware and Windows is software?  And hardware without software can't do anything, and vice versa.  But the thing is that both are software and hardware.

This was closer to true back in the PowerPC days. Today, a Mac is the same x86 hardware running a different operating system. It's almost entirely a software difference today.

A mac comes with OS X. Therefore it's not just hardware. A mac has both. Windows is just an OS. Unless you think of the surface but that's the surface not Windows.

 

 

 

I have a funny story about that actually. When the iPad was released in 2010 I had an idea that is basically exactly what the surface is now but with a wireless keyboard. My idea is that you can put the screen up anywhere you like and control it remotely with the keyboard and mouse etc. etc.

5 years later and both Microsoft and Apple have effectively what I came up with that day, the worst thing is that all of my peers said it was a stupid idea and no-one will like it. :-(
