Office 2016 Full rollout

Microsoft is now begining to roll out Office 2016 to Office 365 users.

In case you're not aware Office 2016 includes:

• Real time Co-authoring *
• Office 365 Groups (using Outlook and Office 2016) *
• Office 365 Planner *
• Updated Outlook 2016 with new smart features
• New Tell Me feature
• Excel 2016 - More chart types and more exporting options
• Sign into Office 365 with Windows Hello *1
• Office Mobile Apps with Continuum - Use your phone and make it act like a desktop so it can give presentations *2

*2 Available on select Windows Phone Models only

Using it for months..but it is almost same.. the search is inbuilt, it is ok...Co-authoring not used but my office 365 subscription is family one..

The only thing that seems interesting there, possibly, is the new Excel stuff.

Personally I plan to buy a copy of 2013 and just live with that. It's what I took courses on, it's what I know, it'll be around for ages.

Seems neat, and some of the features look like direct competition with Google Drive functionality. My university gets Office for free for all students, so this may actually come in handy for collaborative projects. I've always preferred Word to Google Doc when possible.

Having to update to Windows 10 to get office 2016 .... No way. I've got window 10 on one machine and Window 7 on all he others. Window 10 just doesn't do it for me sp Office 2016 can just sit there.

Yeah they have a free one for mobile and Windows Desktop (i think it's only for win10)

 

It has about 70% of the features of the paid version. It just lacks features that professionals use a lot.

And I'm still using office 2007...

In that case try upgrading to Office 2010, use that for a year, the upgrade to 2013 (use for 1 year) then migrate to 2016.

Nobody ever had a problem with Google Collecting Telemetry and Apple collecting Telemetry before this.

IKR Google Drve is so fiddly and annoying to use for certain things. The only thing i like is their forms builder.

You can, there's a free edition which has 60-70% of the paid version features. It's only recommended for home users (not for students, professionals etc)

Yeah well everyone i know who uses office in school is upgrading.

 

I'm in a weird situation since i have office 2013 home and student 

and

office 365 Personal (came free with my phone).

Honestly go for 2016 it's way better (coming from someone who's used 2013 a lot).
