Will your rig ever be "done"?

So I'm wondering for everyone will your main rig ever truly be done???? Done as in your totally happy with everything in it and don't need to do anything other then pop some more ram in.

Nope. There's always something to improve in my build. I'll constantly upgrade until money do us part lol

Never, because I constantly tweak and upgrade my systems(even fix 'em till their broke). And for those wondering about "Plan B", don't worry, I have some fun stuff coming .

My rig is done. I updated the graphic card recently, but that's pretty much it.

My next upgrade would most likely be a complete change, to DDR4 or something. Since I'm still on LGA1156.

Nope I upgrade my GPU's almost every year and then I upgrade the CPU or change out stuff.

 

I basically end up with a whole new build every 3 years

I don't think so, I have two "main" builds and a few other to serve as render clients and upgrade them at least every 3-8 months with small parts and build on a new chipset every 2-3 generations, also depends on what I need and I want, though I spend more on what I want than need. There will have to be a chipset that will really impress me for me to not upgrade in a decade I would say.

As soon as I get a GPU, SSD and an extra hard drive for space, yes, it will be "done" until I upgrade completely a few years later to a new build.

Mine is done.

I built it, it has been working well, im just improving it (new gpu, some SSDs and so, you know).

It will be "done" when i change its brain, heart and soul (cpu, gpu, mobo) because at that stage its a new rig.
