When you see people saying reserved, they plan on editing that forum post to their youtube url once they have finished creating the video :)

why? can't they just make a new post?

I hope I actually did the contest correctly! Else than audio the video turned out okay, so hopefully it gets noticed by Senpai.

Obviously the video is a bit dramatized. You can see my actual setup in the video but I also had an old Windows 98 machine that's probably only a few years younger than I am. I saw an opportunity to make something funny and at least tried to take it. The thirty second time limit is the reason for the weird cuts but hopefully they end up adding to the video instead of detracting from it. #UltraWideFestival

 

btw the window and weird stripes I added myself so don't judge them too harshly.

They could, however they want to be closer to the start of the thread so their videos get more exposure (in theory).

They could, however they want to be closer to the start of the thread so their videos get more exposure (in theory).

 

i feel like unless they are on the first page it actually gives them less exposure.

If you anything like me then when you revisit this post you jump straight to where you left off [page 10 for me] and continue from there, you don't go back to see if any new videos have been added to reserved posts...

Okay, here's my shot at this one:

A 3440x1440 monitor would be awesome to have, and hey, if I have a shot at getting myself a machine that doesn't take an hour for the FINAL export of a 30s video (total compute time including motion graphics and proxies came close to ten hours for this mini-project) then I guess that's worth it. This might not be the most 'creative' of all of the entries so far - I've just watched a few of them and it amazes me what some people can come up with - but it sticks closer to the style of most of the videos I've been producing over the last year, so it has that personal touch for me at least. Anyway, even if I fail to make it to the first round, this video was fun to produce and taught me a couple of new techniques.

I'm always open to any feedback on my content, so feel free to let me know what you think.

@nicklmg Can my video still be accepted even if it's over 30 seconds by like 0.13 milliseconds? YouTube is also listing my video as being 31 seconds when i know for a fact that it's not...
