Is wearable technology a must have thing right now?

hey guys i'm going to wait for the iphone 6s and 6s+ and i wanna know if the wearable technology is must have for phones and normal use because i see that moto 360 is better than the apple watch by ages. and i wouldn't pay 500$ for a smartwatch that is also no that good.

 

 

so is wearable technology A.K.A smartwatches is a must have thing in the mean time ?

muh specs 

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it. 

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff. 

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

Nope... at least not yet... it's still too early...

 

might be a nice assistive tool in the near future but not replacing cellphones yet..

The only thing I need my watch to do is tell the time and survive being worn by me. So obviously Casio sits atop my wrist. I personally see no use for smartwatches.

Considering smartphones are still not a "must have" thing... Smart watches certainly aren't either. (Dumb cellphones are still a thing, and the monthly fees are a lot cheaper, like $20~$25 cheap)

 

Unless you suddenly can no longer do anything without one, it's not a must have. (Like if debit/credit card suddenly went away and you absolutely needed a smart device to pay for grocery...)

 

And considering the wearable tech is still in what I'd consider it's infancy, it has a little way to go before it even reach smartphone levels of "I need this".

hey guys i'm going to wait for the iphone 6s and 6s+ and i wanna know if the wearable technology is must have for phones and normal use because i see that moto 360 is better than the apple watch by ages. and i wouldn't pay 500$ for a smartwatch that is also no that good.

My Apple Watch does nothing for me. It's convenient for my dad but nothing more.

Depends on your use case and how much benefit you'll get from a $300+ purchase. I've gotten quite a lot out of my Pebble Steel whilst working, driving, and exercising, though I'd still have my phone on my persons on the daily. You are definitely more productive with a wearable, but again it varies from person to person.

it is a must have now a days. but I would never recommenced spending over 300 dollars EVER for a smartwatch, and other than that, there are not many good smartwatches for apple products. i personally recommend any pebble smartwatch, and they work with both android or IOS so if you switch phones, it will still work.
