Recommendation for X99 Mobo

Hello!

Buying in the u.s.

After all those deals, I am FINLLY buying a x99 system. Yes this is for gaming, yes I know that I won't benefit form extra cores. But it is final I am going x99.

What I am getting -

5820k - 299.99

Corsiar vengeance 16gb 4x4 - 139.99

You may notice that a motherboard is missing. Why? Well I just haven't decided on it yet. I have been using a sabertooth and I can say first hand that it really damn is TuF. Asus customer support in California is top notch etc.

So logical thing, get a sabertooth x99? Not exactly. I hate the cooler scheme on it...

Pls suggest me a mobo, the motherboard shouldnt cost more than 500 (Yes a lot to spend on a mobo, but please don't argue with this decision)

Lets all ripperoni in pepperoni

if you are spending 500 dollars I would get a WS (workstation) class board from Asus or ASRock.

But unless you need those features you're a real fool for spending more than 2xx on a motherboard.

BTW Asus Customer Support in Cali Sucks. But anyways, Asrock OC Formula or X99 SOC Champion. Also: Instead of the LPX, go for the new G.SKILL DDR4 Trident Xs.

a budget for $500, i would get a cheap looking within $255 range, and the rest for an SSD, GPU, water cooling loops, or DDR4 RAM.

Pretty much any X99 board. Considering most fit your price range. Asrock, Gigabyte, or Asus imo.

-snip-

Paint the Sabertooth armor. :D Breakin out the rattle cans in August when I finally get some time to do my build log redux in the Enthoo Primo.

My only gripe about the Sabertooth is the placement of the M.2 slot if you're running SLI and trying to fit a damn Hyper Kit in there

I'm using the ASUS X99-A/USB 3.1 and really like it. The BIOS is super easy to navigate, you get a nice read out of what's going on with your motherboard, memory, and cpu. I felt the price was pretty good to for the feature set.
