Any benifits the furyX has over the 980 ti?

What benefits does this the fury X have over the  980ti? As every benchmark I've seen it performs worse. So there must be some benefit that it has. Is it quieter or can it OC better.

It is cooler and less noisy than reference 980ti. We dont know about OC potential as there wasnt driver that unlocks voltages yet.. maybe week from now?

It helps AMD from becoming a completely obsolete company?

An AMD cpu has no place in a solely gaming build, end of.

HBM.

Now for the cons of the fury x compared to the 980ti:

- Worse performance

- Hella ugly

- Slightly higher power usage

- Requires room for 120mm radiator

- Can't OC the VRAM

I'd say go for a 980ti instead for anyone trying to pick between the two.

cooler, quieter, an massive "maybe" in terms of higher performance with newer drivers.

For all we know, you may get 5-10 FPS more in a month due to new drivers, or less FPS, if you buy a Nvidia card.

What what more FPS over time?

Shorter, HBM memory... thats about it. Nothing really.

980ti advantages: More vRAM, more efficient, custom pcbs and coolers, better drivers in my opinion.

I'll personally wait for the fury, which I believe should offer better value. The fury X goes neck to neck with the 980Ti.

Size, temps (Water cooled), & HBM (Newer Tech).  I would not completely judge the Fury X to soon.  Drivers are still new for the card.  I can attest to this because the drivers are still shit for the 980 Ti.  They both will get better drivers over time and we should see the full potential of these cards soon.

I have a potato!

Personally, I'd take a cooler like the Gigabyte G1 980ti over the ugly Fury X cooler. Just my opinion. ;P

It will surely fit in small cases and you get awesome performance in AMD titles.

It's got a super fast memory compared to 980ti !!

But to be honest the Fury X looks like a Soap holder.

HBM.

Having HBM means fuck all when it doesn't show any benefit over the 980 Ti's GDDR5.

The benchmarks I've seen show it trading blows with the 980ti actually (at 4k of course). Other than that it's smaller and cooler, and probably more silent than the reference 980ti design. Frankly I think the fury (non X) will be the real killer.
