$649 USD GTX 980 ti teardown + bench+ ingame fps + temp + power

ahhming

I'm flabberghasted that Nvidia didn't cut it down more from the titanX.

That said, who is the idiot benching at low res? 4K is all that should interest anyone with this card. Even at 1440p a single 970 or 290 is plenty of performance for most people.

Half of the benchmarks are fucking CPU limited with 3-4 cards getting the same fps.

350w Max TDP!!!!!

Foooooking hell!!!!!!!!

Looks like a great card but that's an insane amount of power.

You do realize 350w is measured from the wall socket. That means power consumption of the whole system, including CPU, mobo, and of course the GTX980 Ti.

Even though I bought the Titan X SLI. I feel better knowing my friends don't have to pay the same price I did to get a great card. I will be buying two of the EVGA 980 Ti hybrids when they come out for a couple of my friends.

People who bought a bunch of Titan X's and don't use more than 6GB's must be kicking themselves right now. This is so amazing!

Bioshock infinity lol.

I don't even know why that is on the list of games to benchmark.

More like dirt 3, at least bioshock infinite is some what demanding sure not super demanding but still. I think they should have benched witcher 3 and project cars instead. No idea if the drivers would play a role in the performance so that's probably why they didn't do those games?

CPU: Intel 3570 GPUs: Nvidia GTX 660Ti Case: Fractal design Define R4  Storage: 1TB WD Caviar Black & 240GB Hyper X 3k SSD Sound: Custom One Pros Keyboard: Ducky Shine 4 Mouse: Logitech G500

I also want to see 980 Ti SLI benchmarks as well. I'm sure more websites will release benchmarks on it. I'm waiting for anandtech.

Until some new games with texture packs that requires 8GB vram.

Tbh I did see the wall plug but it's Sunday and I'm still really hungover so my brain didn't register what I was seeing properly.

How come this performs better in some games than Titan X?

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

Because they're CPU limited and thus it's just random variance.

Although even at 4K there's no real difference between the two.

Oh bloody hell!

Depending on their launch price in the UK, I might get two of these now cereal. if it's too closely priced to the Titan I might as well get that. Come on NVIDIA give me that lovely £600 price.

If the 295x2 is cheaper, would it be a better deal?

I want to see some 1440p and 4K Witcher 3 benchmarks with full Ultra. That means gameworks fully enabled.

Yeah, might need to get two. I've been running this GTX 580 for too long as a stop gap since my TX arrived dead 3 weeks ago.

350w Max TDP!!!!!

Looks like a great card but that's an insane amount of power.

Measured from the looks of it from the PLUG, meaning the entire PC using 350w. (Guessing GPU is near 250-275w peak, with an IntelCPU using 70-80w) it's possible.

$650 USD

Thats like a zillion dollars here in Australia, with our screwyourtechwallet tax.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Not really. 4k DSR of Shadow of Mordor with HD texture pack is 6GBs of vram. Aslo 5k DSR is 6.7GBs of vram. So no I am not kicking myself at all.

Can I be your friend?

No. I can only count my friends on one hand lol. So I don't have a lot of true friends.

Kinda hoping board partners can release cards on launch day. I need a GPU badly but don't think I can wait that much longer. I would prefer not to buy the reference cooler but may have to.
