umm, i can see 780ti right under 980 and every benchmark from the link you gave me? please needs more explanations on why it was gimped, and please do explain, dont just link me articles.

Look at the Dying light benches. At 1080p, 780ti is 7 fps on average above the 290x. At 4k, they are equal. We know the 780ti has a beefier GPU than the 290x. We also know DL is an NVidia gamerworks title, which is more optimized on NVidia. So why is the 780ti not performing better?

Also both games use above 3GB of vram on the cards they can.

Watching Intel have competition is like watching a headless chicken trying to get out of a mine field

CPU: Intel I7 4790K@4.6 with NZXT X31 AIO; MOTHERBOARD: ASUS Z97 Maximus VII Ranger; RAM: 8 GB Kingston HyperX 1600 DDR3; GFX: ASUS R9 290 4GB; CASE: Lian Li v700wx; STORAGE: Corsair Force 3 120GB SSD; Samsung 850 500GB SSD; Various old Seagates; PSU: Corsair RM650; MONITOR: 2x 20" Dell IPS; KEYBOARD/MOUSE: Logitech K810/ MX Master; OS: Windows 10 Pro

that's it ? one game one benchmark from one source and 780ti is gimped ? i really need more than that to accept 780ti is gimped and certainly benchmarks from multiple games, i repeat , MULTIPLE

What would be a good move for Nvidia is to release the 980 a few days or weeks after the 390x or what ever.

Short lived victory for AMD (Possibly) and more press for Nvidia (Although they'd probably get the same amount either way)

Whaaa??? Has the price been leaked?

Nope, but with the price ~$750-850, or somewhere around that, most people won't be able to afford it

I got a lot of tags because I bet that there would be no GTX 980 Ti, and that a new naming scheme would occur (probably GTX 1080 or something along those lines). I lost.

Titan X, 980 Ti, Fiji...

... decisions, decisions.

I have the same problem. If the 980ti is only a few hundred less (like 100-200) than a titan x, ill probably get a titan x. Not real keen on fiji

I'm surprised. Snooping around for a few minutes and I have yet to see a thread related to the 980 Ti. What gives?

Anyway, it is allegedly supposed to be released at Computex: http://wccftech.com/nvidia-geforce-gtx-980-ti-officially-launching-2nd-june-computex-brings-competitive-graphics-performance-geforce/

I just want to get this out there: This thing better have a backplate. Nvidia really had no excuse to leave one off the Titan X. However, it means more this time. Considering the 980 reference (which is beautiful - I would never get a non-reference design) has a great steel backplate, this guy better as well, even though those pre-production shots leave it off (it's pre-production, so it would change, right?).

But the odd thing about this (and it seems like it really is not just a rumour at this point) is that Nvidia is really blowing over their naming schemes by releasing this. I do not believe any Ti-branded card was based on an altogether different core. 980 is GM204 and this "980Ti" is supposed to be GM200. What gives?

Specs: Asus ROG Maximus VII Formula (Motherboard) | i7-4790k (CPU) | EVGA Geforce GTX 1080 Founders Edition (Graphics Card) | Samsung 850 EVO 250GB (C:) (SSD) | Western Digital Caviar Black 3TB (G:) (HDD) | Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB (F:) (HDD) | LG 14X BD Rewriter (D:) (Optical Drive) | Corsair H80i GT (CPU Cooler) | Corsair Vengeance 16GB (4x4) DDR3 1600MHz (RAM) | OCZ ZX 850W (Power Supply) | Coolermaster CM Storm Enforcer (Case) | Asus ROG Swift VG278Q 144Hz 1440p (Monitor) | Kingston HyperX Cloud (Headset) | Corsair Vengeance K70 (Keyboard) | Corsair Vengeance M60 (Mouse) | Noctua NF-F12 (x4) (Fans).
