It really is not official though, so that title is misleading. Greedy bastards...

Anyway, it really does not make sense for a 980Ti, let alone a release at this point. Titan X came out what, two months ago??

It is not official until Nvidia officially reveals it. And they will not until that comes, no matter the amount of leaked screenies and specs/benchmarks.

It is. Anyways can you change your title to 980 Ti Confirmed

Why exactly?

It is not confirmed. It simply cannot be. Yes, there is substantial evidence, and a leaked slide. However, the existence of such a "980Ti" can only be assumed through this information, as Nvidia has not talked about it yet. It's the same as it was nearly seven months ago when people initially started to talk about the 980Ti. Does that make it "confirmed" then? No, and no now as well. Wait until it is revealed to say that.

@TheSLSAMG accepted a challenge on the internet.

lXUkg0q.png

Oh man. Poor Samg. I would really love to see that. I'm sorry old buddy but please upload to YouTube.

I got a lot of tags because I bet that there would be no GTX 980 Ti, and that a new naming scheme would occur (probably GTX 1080 or something along those lines). I lost.

:(. Let me know when you upload the video. I will give it a like. Hopefully Nvidia is like just kidding and then your saved.

I have the same problem. If the 980ti is only a few hundred less (like 100-200) than a titan x, ill probably get a titan x. Not real keen on fiji

Yep me too. If I'm spending that much on the Ti minus well just get the TiX, although if I get the Ti I have money for another SSD, another 8GB of RAM and more games. Ugh. Nvidia is making it difficult for me. :D

Look at it this way as well:

For that $100-$200 more, you get 6, I repeat *SIX* Gigabytes of GDDR5 ram.  The value of that increases even more due to the fact that video card ram cannot be "upgraded",... it is a one-time decision, only, at the time of purchase.

The main thing I'm concerned about:

Where is the bloody backplate?

Surely they just did not have it on the one they snapped photos of, right?

I damn sure hope Nvidia does not claim the same "Tri-SLI" bullshit that they said was the reason the $1000 Titan X was lacking it.

Seriously, the 980 has it, so there is no logical reason they can say they will not include one on the 980Ti. If they try that, they will have a controversy akin to what CDPR is going through what now.

I don't know why people are so obsessed with naming conventions.  Why do people put any type of logic as to why they named it a certain way just because the past dictates what it should be?  It's a damn name for marketing purposes!

I have a potato!

Since you got mentioned more than the 980ti, I'm seriously debating whether to rename the topic to:"TheSLSAMG is officially drinking a bottle of Sriracha sauce on June 2nd".

It is not official until Nvidia officially reveals it. And they will not until that comes, no matter the amount of leaked screenies and specs/benchmarks.

Nvidia announced the event on their Facebook, and we see a GTX on the pic + all those pic leakes and GPU-Z, I think it's 99% sure it's a 980ti. Yes, I know, photoshop is a thing, but I don't thonk it's gonna be a new line of GPUs, the 900 hasn't been out for that long.

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.
