Using a LG LB500 for a secondary display running off a DVI-I to VGA adapter. 

 

It's 15 inch and from 2002. Very useful when no drivers are installed or in safe mode.

I would like to find 4:3 11-13" monitor, even vga - I want small monitor to display temps, clocks etc on it.

Would be really useful, but there's no of them on the market nowadays.

mini-displayport to displayport adapter cable - "premium quality" - after all my HDMI and DVI cables failed to deliver 2560x1080 px to the monitor... Was about 25 EUR for a 1m cable on Amazon...

I have a monitor hooked up to my laptop that is vga before i started using it on the laptop i was using it as a second monitor on my desktop

My "secondary" is using VGA because I can't find any of my other cables. But I never use it. It's just there to make sure my iGPU works.

Doesn't VGA have a relatively high pixel clock or something like that? Like 600 Mhz?

lol I still use VGA. My monitor is literally a square, with 1280 x 1024 for the highest restitution.
