[Not sure if this is news] Has YouTube changed its UI yet again?

Orignial Source: Personal Experience


Hey everyone,


 


As I always do on YouTube, I was watching one of Linus's new videos and saw something kind of strange.


Is YouTube planning on making another UI change to their platform. 


In the screenshot below, you can see the Player UI is different on Chrome than it is to Fire Fox, and we know that Google likes to try stuff out on their own browser, Chrome, first.

Edit: To show it is not the stylish I have installed, here is a screenshot with my theme turned off.

If this is the case and they are indeed planing on updating the UI, what are your thoughts?


I personally quite like it. It looks clean and elegant compared to a black bar at the bottom of videos.


If only they could improve upon other aspects of their site, *cough, sub boxes, cough*

I havnt noticed that and I use chrome

Really? I just checked other videos from other channels and its the same on UnboxTherapy's channel, strange.

Honestly whatever changes they make, I will still run Youtube Center: https://github.com/YePpHa/YouTubeCenter/wiki

 

Whatever they do, unless they will make the player's default size at least full 720p (and also 720p quality (NOT AUTO)) - with disabled annotations and auto play by default. I will still be running the YTC with those changes I just mentioned :)

 

It's such a small thing to have a video player be auto 1080/720p in player size & quality with annotations disabled and no auto play, but I hate using youtube without that plug in! (The sole reason I moved away from Chrome and onto Opera, because chrome blocked the plug in from the chrome store and stopped allowing side-loading of plugins).

Same for me on both browser I see Google added a add music button to youtube which does Darude sandstorm

They added a darude sandstorm April fool if you click the music note on youtube video but i have not got that aero video bar

Might benefit from clearing browser cache, might force YouTube UI to change.

Have a look at the Video UI, the scrobble bar (I think that's what its called) along with the quality settings has changed.

For the people not seeing the update (I don't): Google always does staged roll outs, so if this update is real, you'll probably be getting it over the next few weeks.
