Tinder dates are a bit terrifying because I talk too much during dates (that’s me being nervous) and many of them are catfish. I might as well open it now or else I’ll end up like @iamdarkyoshi:

I have a few people whom I have beef during high school and I still haven’t forgiven my high school bullies even after 10 years but I certainly have friends whom I’ve missed.

I have only ever tried internet dating once and that wasn't exactly for a long term relationship.

It also fell through, so my experiences haven't been the greatest.

Couldn't you just write that on your profile? 

That way your date knows what they're going into and can prepare properly.

In other news, here's today's project:

 

 

It's a brand new Dell XPS13 with the gen-8 i7 and touchscreen I bought for $400.  Someone dropped it and broke the carbon fiber keyboard surround and SD card reader.  Everything is mounted to the keyboard surround, so it was a complete disassemble.  New keyboard surround is on its way (hurry up FedEx), trying to figure out how to fix the SD card.  

 

The power supply on the SD card broke off at the connector, trying to figure out a way to rig it back together.  Thinking about soldering the wire directly to the daughterboard, but the cable is integrated into the display harness - so I wouldn't be able to remove the display assembly without unsoldering/resoldering.  And/or likely breaking the cable again. 

 

I may just do without, because I use SD cards like almost never.  If I do without, I need a little happy to plug into the slot though - any suggestions?  I was thinking about gluing a Quarter into the slot, leaving it partially exposed so you can see there's a Quarter in the SD slot.

 

Either way, scoring a $1200 lappy for $400 plus $100 in parts and an hour of my time is *SCORE*

Why not? If it's an accurate description then wouldn't it be better to be upfront about it?

I know dating is about making a good impression, but in my experience it's a lot easier to make a good impression if you're honest and upfront.

 

But maybe that's why every "date" I arranged through the internet fell through.

Lappy is all buttoned up and working like new!  The worst part were the 31 1mm x 1mm screws holding the keyboard to the deck.  Dunno why it needs 31 of them, but there you go!

I'm probably not dating anyone else at the moment as my past two dates have been disastrous though the fault is on me as the red flags are kinda obvious with the last one but I still pursued it.

If only Starbucks could be a bit more consistent from one branch to another. Occasionally, Starbucks located near a school or office sometimes taste like it has been watered down whereas Starbucks in a hospital or a hotel near a mountain taste awesome with much fuller flavor.

Some drinks are a bit pricey so I'd bug the barista until they "make it right."
