Questions about gaming PC.

Sup3rvillain

I am in the market for a gaming PC, but i have a few questions. Keep in mind i am not that computer savvy, and I've never built a PC in my entire life.

  • Whats the minimum amount of money i would have to spend on a computer that can max (settings) any games comfortably?
  • For someone who isn't very good with computers, how difficult would it be to assemble one if i bought the parts?

Welcome!

1) max? 1150-1450

2) no, not at all. There are many youtube tutorials, just picking the parts is hard for newbies. They often read something, and purchase for example a quadro or titan or xeon. Let the linustechtips community pick the parts, and you just worry about putting them together.

dis reguard that noob up above me ^^^^^^

I would say anywhere from $800-1200 to be able to max out games at 1080. assembling is easier than a 5 years old puzzle. You cannot put a part where it shoudlnt go they simply wont fit. just be sure to ask us for compatable parts and if you would like help building a pc though someone will probabl chime in with a build for you.

depends on the game. if you are talking about current triple a titles then somewhere around 1000 and if you can assemble ikea furniture you can build a computer

1. ~1200 euros/USD is the sweet spot. You can spend a little more for future proofing or less to just cut it.

2. not very hard, but watch a video or 2 before and be sure what you do

minimum? a 750$ build has an i5(all be it a locked one) and an r9 290. Both of which would max out basically every game at 1080p.
Its not that difficult. If you know how to build lego you know how to build a pc :P

$1200 is right in my budget, i was looking into getting parts for one now, but i was advised to wait a few months in case anything new comes out.

Fairly odd, but is $1200 a budget that would also build an aesthetically pleasing PC? I always see these awesome builds with great color combo/lights etc.

To be honest i don't 100% care about maxing EVERY setting. I couldn't give a damn about shit like shadows etc lol.

no its 60fps at 1080p is still considered to be the social ideal sinario. 4k gaming isnt feasible at the moment. considering a very very small portion of the consumer pc market has a 4k monitor. i my self still game at 1080p

Everybody talks about $1000 but i think $700 should be enougth.

If you don't want to use water cooling or a difficult to install cooler it shouldn't be that difficult

$1200 is enough if you want something fancier like LED fans and water cooling.

I made sure everything here is easy to work with (i.e to build, install). It is a black/white color scheme. I even added a monitor x]. Windows you can get here

Yes, you should wait for the new 300 series from AMD coming around April-ish?

But if you cannot wait, I would go for this.

The only thing you can really mess up is the processor. Just be careful with that. Also dont build it in a room with a lot of dust. Carpets are a No

This is a very nice build. The only things I'd change are the PSU (500w is enough), or maybe get an AMD 3xx series once it comes out in 2~3 months. Oh, and a cheaper case.

On the topic of price a I built my Gaming PC for around $750. It runs just about all the games I have thrown at it for around 50 to 60 fps ultra or maxed. It really depends on your presence and how you want your computer in the end, and not just someone else personal favorites.
