This is a thread for people to talk about the best pieces of tech they have got for free;

 

My best pieces;

Microsoft Media Keyboard 1.0- I got this keyboard for free, it had already been used extensively when I got it.

This keyboard despite being a membrane keyboard has a surprisingly tactile feel and has lasted me several years of heavy use without any

keys failing until I was able to buy a Mechanical keyboard. 

 

GTX 460 GS- I got this Graphics card for free about 2 years ago and it is still able to play games with ok performance thanks to overclocking like crazy.

the most I've ever gotten that was useful are a couple dozen ODD's and some outdated CPU's for my keyring.

I stole a few dell motherboards from a skip at school, have them hanging in my room and I think @athesean1 has one

 

Also have a few old pc's that don't work, but the HDD and optical drive worked, so that was nice

If a winning of competition also counts.

 

I won an ESET competition two years ago: Notebook Asus K55(and something) with some kind of i7, 630m and 8gb of ram i think + 1 year licence for Eset smart security.

 

The price of the notebook was determined to 850€ by ESET.

 

I've never used it as I sold it to my friend for 450€ (he actually told me the answer for the competition and we agreed on this :P)

 

EDIT: I'm glad that I sold it, it isn't really a good notebook, friend gave it to his girlfriend (my roommate) and I see that the notebook isn't performing so well, has problems with overheating as so.

 

I actually bought NTB for 500€ that is better :D

Best one is probably the Fatal1ty 750W PSU I got a couple years back when I built my first comp.

Thought the PSU I had lying around would be good enough but nah, so a friend of mine gave me his old PSU.
