Ok, we definitely need a video describing what you guys have learned during the whole thing, because this project takes sooo long and seems so inefficient, that at least there has to be a tangible knowledge benefit.

Twist the stripped parts of the wire together before soldering. Should be easier.

 

As for the UV filter... I'm sceptical about it being effective. It can only kill microbes in the water that passes through it, so it won't stop microbes from growing if they remain stuck in the reservoir, or in some region of stagnant flow in a water block. Something that makes the whole loop inhospitable to life might be more effective.

I bet Linus still doesn't regret not opting for the much simple and easier solution, aka installing A/C, instead......
