AMD Expected To Launch R9 395x2 End Of 2015 For Around $1499

Opcode

Source

The Bermuda GPU will be AMD's dual GPU offering within the Radeon 300 series, which looks like the successor to AMD's Vesavius, or the Radeon R9 295X2. The new Radeon R9 395X2 is expected to be released toward the end of this year, with a price tag of around $1499. The all-in-one watercooler is expected to be cooling down the innards of the 395X2, just like it did with the R9 295X2.

Dang.. Can we speculate the 390x and 380x prices too now? :3

Not all that excited for the dual GPU cards, the new flagship and the slightly cut-down version will be way more interesting.

The reason why they still have a watercooler on it is because all their claims of lower power consumption are BS.

It creates as much heat as all their other induction heaters.

I love how we have no fucking clue what the hell is going to be in this, other than that there's going to be two of them xD

I'd take this over Nvidia's solution which is to nerf both GPUs.

Yeah, but let them make jokes about extreme heat and power when 295x2 was quiet and efficient as a dual GPU card and it is the quickest you can buy.

Or because it has 2 gpus meant for serious work?

But I think you are partially right. If we look at next gen name (after 300 series) only then its going to be cooler.

its stupid cheap for what it is, but if it drops even more, I mean amd cards have been dropping lately. one can be hopeful.

If you put an EK block on it, the Titan Z can be made faster, and by a fair margin.

They aren't really heat jokes. The 290X is the GPU with the highest heat output since the GTX 580. Two of these are going to have a noticeable impact on your ambient room temperature.

Again, this doesn't bother me. I think if you put two of these cards on a PCB you pretty much know what you're getting yourself into, and I prefer this to what Nvidia did with the GTX 590, 690 and Titan Z. Those cards just flat out do not make sense when you could just get two 580s, 680s or 780 Ti/Titan Blacks.

In that case why get the 295x2 at its launch price point when 2 290X were cheaper?! Hell I could have built a custom water loop and stayed within the same budget and had even greater performance!

Do you guys really think that AMD is gonna launch a $700 GPU when the competition's high-end GPU is $550?

Launch prices didn't make any sense, but right now you're just paying a small premium for a 295x2 over 2 290x's. A few cases for the dual GPU card would be: small formfactor build or "I don't want to deal with a custom loop".

I'll have to use a separate power supply for each card along with a separate wall plug so that I don't stat a fire.

Shitposting sure is fun, huh?

Its launch price was stupid. £400 + £400 = £1200, how is that any different from the Titan Z £1000 + £1000 = £3000?

One thing the 295X2 does give you is the fact that the high TDP of the 290X does mean that two 290Xs, even aftermarket ones, will be louder than this, and in the hottest days in summer they will throttle -- especially if your case doesn't have room to space them out adequately. Which is why you should never listen to AMD fanboys when they say that the 290X's TDP is something that should never be mentioned.

Hoping they release a 390/x that spanks the shit out of the 980 so I can switch to a company that's honest.

Another dual GPU card, another crown for AMD - since 6990 AMD has been kicking ass at it.
