Should there be dedicated car and anime sections rather then huge threads?

Seeing as the car thread and the anime club are the most popular ongoing threads on LTT, would you guys rather have dedicated forum sections for these two?

 

This is just a hypothetical question, it's likely not going to happen, but who knows. Both the car and anime threads in the off-topic section are huge and messy, it would definitely be a lot more efficient for the people of this forum who are in those clubs to have their own sections where they could create threads and reply to other's threads.

 

edit: The threads don't necessarily have to show up in the recent topics, to prevent flooding of the box

In the Forum Suggestions thread, it has been suggested many times, but it has been declined. I agree, they should be separate subforums since they are the largest interests after tech here, but probably not enough content to consider a subforum.

I dont think so. I dont mind talking about other things, but this is formost a tech fourm. Dont want to take away from that

Home Theater is a lot more tech-related than the newest episode of Sword Art Online. Just saying. This is a Tech forum with threads for non-tech things. Then you also have Off-Topic. We don't need an anime or car board, because they aren't nearly on the same scale as tech, and a tech board is what this is.

I think that if you are looking to talk really in depth about cars, you should go to a forum where that is what the community is based around. Same goes for anime.

No. It's a tech forum first and foremost, not a car and anime forum.

Not really, nah. Not at least until there's more sections for tech stuff first. For example, even though they are "mobile devices", I wish there was a laptop or "laptop hardware" section or subsection, so I and others with laptop expertise could give laptop-specific help and write troubleshooting guide for it. They are different beasts than desktops when it comes to the hardware. 

 

There IS a large anime audiance here, and the threads are busy, but it isn't an anime forum. Maybe a other media section in the game area, renaming it from video games to "media"

There's different people on different forums, this thread is mainly being able to stay within the community of LTT members.

It is fine as it is right now. Maintaining focus on tech while everything else goes into Off Topic keeps the place clean.

They could add a subforum to off topic, called hobbies and interests, where car threads etc can be found

I *could* see a car sub-forum, with how 'smart' cars are getting these days. People could discuss recent software updates, etc..

I don't see a viable way to keep it directly car-tech related though. Eventually someone is going to start a fight about how [insert non-tech car-related argument here].

 

I don't think anime should have a sub-forum. Simple as that.

I love my anime, but i still have to disagree. It's cool that people have spawned their own

mini-communities within the forum. But regardless, it's a tech forum and they shouldn't

be handing off subsections to everyone.. tech is where it's at. 

 

One of the presidents should probably share his opinion @MyInnerFred although i don't

think the mods would ever go along with it anyway, so there really isn't a discussion to

be had.

Anime Club's co-founder here, this has been a topic that's been brought up before. The general consensus is that sub-forums would not be made unless it is tech related, therefore a car and anime sub-section is out of the question.

It doesn't bother me at all that that there aren't sub-sections, I'm actually appreciative that the admins and moderators allow our club to exist to be honest.

The main thread is sometimes off topic within off topic lol. We talk about all sorts of things.

I swear, people talking about anime in there are sometimes in the minority.

I realize that this forum does have a lot of people who like Anime but I think that they're fine just posting in off topic rather than any subforum.

Cars are too tech related. If there were no computers in cars, fuel injected cars would go haywire and you can just never get that degree of accuracy that carbs can ever get instead of fuel injection.
