Ubisoft poll hints at future Farcry settings

Ubisoft appears to be considering both of these options - and several others - according to a recent survey that polled Far Cry fans on where a future game should be set.

The poll asked players to select their three preferred locations for a possible Far Cry follow up. Here's the full list of potential places:

• A Far Cry game in remote Alaska about surviving extreme wilderness
• A Far Cry game in a futuristic, sci-fi setting on another planet
• A Far Cry game set in the Vietnam war during the 1960s
• A Far Cry game set in the cocaine trafficking jungles of Peru
• A Far Cry game where you can fight against or join vampires
• A Far Cry game in the Spaghetti Western style set in the late 19th century Americas
• A Far Cry game that is set during a zombie outbreak
• Blood Dragon 2: A sequel to Blood Dragon with more Rex Power Colt
• A Far Cry game set in a Mad Max style post-apocalyptic world
• A Far Cry game in the present day on a Jurassic Park style island of dinosaurs
• A Far Cry game based on the world of Shangri-La from Far Cry

So, how likely is it that any of this will come true? Well, Ubisoft has a long history of polling Assassin's Creed fans in exactly the same manner - which year on year proves to be a fairly decent steer on what's next in the pipeline.
 

Back in 2010, Ubisoft quizzed fans on various features that would be found in Assassin's Creed: Revelations - a year ahead of that game coming out.

A 2011 survey on future AC settings included the American Revolution (announced shortly afterwards for AC3) and the Victorian Empire (due next year in the recently-leaked AC: Victory).

2012 saw Ubisoft poll the public on the implementation of co-op - which was added to the series the following year in AC: Unity.

Finally, last year's survey mentioned a pirating game without an Assassin protagonist - something which sounds a lot like AC: Rogue, also released last year - as well as entering buildings seamlessly (another Unity feature).

Yeah, game devs want to start on the new game in the series as soon as possible I suppose.

It would be cool to see a Far Cry game in snow, with a modern setting. But that's just my opinion.

Out of the whole list, I'd be most interested in the vietnam war and the drug trafficking in Peru games. The rest sound meh to me.

I would love to know what the odds of Ubisoft listening to us are, The Vietnam one would be interesting but only if you played on the side of Vietcong (sorry America), Peru would be cool but may be quite similar to ones that have gone before, as long as the gameplay is interesting and Ubisoft have developed there now go to activities to make them more interesting (in other words start fresh)

doesn't have to be , FC Blood dragon was experimental and good , not everything have to be an original , infact FC 1 and FC 2 and FC 3 was totally original and as different it int's own way , they were original , FC 1 was ok to say the least , FC 2 was built upon it with different idea,and FC 3 perfected it , FC 4 rehashed it . everything is always inspired by other things , don't always say we want originals all the time
