You can use a regulator on the air line to restrict the airflow to the tank. That can cause the vibrating air pump to make more noise though and can reduce the life of the flap valves inside the pump.

 

A better solution is to use a distribution manifold and regulate a bleed then just open up the valve to the tank. Something like this:

The best solution would be to use a Variac as it eliminates the need for a bleed, prolongs pump life, and most of all reduces the buzzing noise.

An extremely entertaining video with awesome camera work and fun banter between Linus and Luke.  I needed something like this to pick my spirits up after having a disaster of a birthday that had me reeling.  I said to myself I want to do something like this and eh if I don't hang around then I can't do something like this.  Thanks for reminding me that there may be some things I need to do in life that will bring some smiles to my face and maybe some others.  I still have that urine cooled pc to build maybe someday?  Eh maybe not .... :S

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it. 

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff. 

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

How come you guys decided not to put a fan on that tower cooler? Was there just enough of a flow rate through the fins from convection and the bubbles?

Won't running the bubble machine cause more humidity to get into the oil faster than it normally would?

I think using a funnel would have made life a lot easier when pouring that oil. :D

I'm honestly curious how the bubbles effect the fan motors and the general cooling. For the fan motors it's constantly changing the density of what the fan is moving though, and for the cooling the air is not as good as mineral oil at it.

- Are the rocks at the bottom only to have bubbles?
- Are they using a waterproof motherboard and graphics card?
- Do they actually need fans for their graphics card and their power supply, since fans are supposed to be blowing air and there is actually not a lot of air to blow in liquids?

I think the rocks are both for concealing the bubbler and to act as an ornament (making it look like a fish tank).

The components are not waterproof, but mineral oil is non-conductive like air. That allows the setup to work.

The fans push the liquid through the parts that need cooling. Some flow is desirable to take away heat from those components. Instead of air, the fans are now blowing mineral oil to the cooling fins.

Instead of using mineral oil to cool your VC/CPU you should use it to cool everything else.   AND sub 0 cool your VC/CPU!!!

 

Imagine dropping a watercooled computer in oil and then running some refrigerant through the loop.   The oil would prevent any condensation so you could run it as cold as your hearts desire.   The oil would also cool your Mobo/ram/PSU/ECT...
