Star Citizen to Feature Zero-Gravity Combat

200_s.gif

Fucking. AWESOME

yeah Star Citizen isn't worth it anymore for me, it cost way to much to even get the game now and I'm not paying that much for it. But damn it looks good to me.

It's only expensive because when you get in right now, you are funding development, at release it's supposed to be much cheaper, and without the whole "you lose your ship and skills if you die" thing from eve.

Ketchup is better than mustard.

GUI is better than Command Line Interface.

Dubs are better than subs

Didn't know it was optional so don't get butt hurt over it since I don't know anything about this, never followed star citizen until today but decided to look things up and there is a subscription on there but I don't know what it is for.

That subscription gives you access to the Jump Point magazine and the ability to ask questions in 10 for the chairman and some other stuff like art.

FPS portion of it is looking very promising, one of the advantages of the way they are developing the game is we'll get to have at it in the FPS module and put in a ton of feedback for tweaks before it's ever officially out. That kind of 'what can we break' testing usually doesn't happen till the game is out and balancing can be more difficult.
Personally I can't wait to get to fly my constellation.

Looks very good. This is shaping up to be the most diverse game of all time.

Only thing I don't like is that portable cover thing. Don't like the look of it- bit of an immersion killer. Would prefer having to use the environment as cover.

Also Reflex, another awesome looking arena shooter.

Yup, that game is looking awesome. Too bad they cancelled the kick starter. Not sure about how it will end up.

Basically like quake but with a robotic theme and a couple interesting new ideas.

Tea, Metal, and poorly written code.

We melted quite a few of ours, too many Idrii is going to just create a crew vacuum. I really don't want to see the inside of an org who have too many Idrii and the inevitable drama that will cause. Too much hassle for a strategic handicap.

We fortunately have enough crew to man them all and then some.

We have enough people to run 4 separate divisions smoothly

Reflex Movement Overview: http://youtu.be/xxnwax7jzYs

Basically like quake but with a robotic theme and a couple interesting new ideas.

Check out their subreddit for some more info on what is going on, /r/reflex.

Here is a recent post from one of the devs.

So there's been a bit of hype surrounding Reflex Early Access. Yes, it's hitting soon -- we've just got to wait for Valve to approve it.

You'll be able to grab yourself a copy a play immediately but before you do, you should be aware of what you're paying for.

When we say Early Access, we mean it. The game is playable but still completely unpolished and you won't see any huge difference between the Early Access build and what you've seen in the trailer/streams.

We don't have all the modes. The weapons are not final. The UI is ugly and basic. The editors don't support even half of the features we have planned for them. A lot of the sounds are pretty crappy. Most of the art is missing. We don't have matchmaking. We don't have bots.

In short, the game is going to be rough. Game development is a slow process, especially for a small, unfunded indie team. Reflex is not competition ready and won't be for a while yet. It's not ready to support a large scene.

For now, it's fun. It's playable. You can build maps. You can watch replays.

But it is a long way from finished.

You have been warned ;)
