I have about 20 LGA775 chips. Issue is it'd cost more on import than they're worth :P

damn. got any core 2 quads on your hands?

Current Rig: Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600, Abit IN9-32MAX nForce 680i board, Galaxy GT610 1GB DDR3 gpu, Cooler Master Mystique 632S Full ATX case, 1 2TB Seagate Barracuda SATA and 1x200gb Maxtor SATA drives, 1 LG SATA DVD drive, Windows 10. All currently runs like shit :D

Gonna put my P5Q PRO in my rig tomorrow and will start overclocking soon. Thanks @MeepLikesToBuildPc's's for the board, CPU (Q8200) and RAM and thanks @harrynowl for writing this guide. :)

alright, ill try to look in the bios now :)

That's what I'm using, and the way it is on my core 2 at stock clock (the cooler for the P4 it replaced does a better job)  I don't hold too many hopes for good temps when I OC. Even ghetto mounting fans to push/pull more air through the heatsink had no impact, even with the case open.

 

 

be sure to chuck your result in the cinebench thread. you have my harpertown to beat ;)

If all goes well I'll have mine gunning for it by mid Janurary. :D

You have 489CB R15 to beat and 5.39 (higher than a 2500k) to beat in R11.5 ;)

I'd try some Conroes, dump them at high voltage.

 

And try a Pentium with a high clock speed and 1066MHz FSB (E6600 or something...!).

And try a Pentium with a high clock speed and 1066MHz FSB (E6600 or something...!).

Conroes can actually take quite a bit of abuse when it comes to voltage. Not my words, since my motherboard doesn't allow overclocking, but they do take abuse.

better off getting a xeon, either x3220 or x5450 for £20 and modding it, will be infinitely better than a 6600
