LGA775 Core2Duo, Core2Quad OVERCLOCKING guide

harrynowl

There's a core 2 duo e6400 going for $10 in my area. Lols.

Those are great CPUs. I loved the first generation core series.

PLEASE HELP ME FIND A USE FOR MY CORE 2 QUAD I'M TRYING SO HARD TO FIND A USE FOR IT. I've owned it for over a year, tore it from a broken MSI P45F-Neo that wanted to stop POSTing and I haven't touched it since. Tried dropping it in my old dell which had BIOS support only up to core 2 duos and... it didn't like it.

I want to use it in some way! It's super close to my Phenom in terms of performance.

Eric S. Raymond used an E6600 from 2005 until 12/30/14 or open source software creation. Raw data computations in excess of 18GB each. Core 2 Duos still have tons of life left, my friend.

If you have younger siblings, make a computer for them.

Already gave my sister a pentium dual system with a 7950 GT OC. Her board doesn't like it either :(

Darn it such a good processor.

I'm not entirely sure it works either. I need to find a board that supports it to find out if it does indeed work. I believe it did before the board decided it hated life.

I think they're worth it. Besides, maybe if I can get a decent 790i board, I might sell my 680i board on the classifieds if anybody wants it.

I'll buy it as longs as its less then £35

honestly, it's not possible. these boards can run way over 100 USD.

That isn't bad. Take a gamble on it. If it doesn't work, make sure it has a return feature so you can get your money back.

I'm not sure if it works. Plus I'm broke so I'll see about shipping later on.

If I do send it, I'll also include a sexy nice cooler.

Not worth it in this case. If it's something with the power delivery system, best leave it be.

well. at 4.65ghz I beat an FX8350 @ 5.35ghz in cinebench 11.5 + r15 (single threaded), so lga775 is still worth something :P

Now that's impressive!

Sig under construction.

Well almost anything can beat the FX-4300...

Well my Core 2 is faster in single thread performance than any FX cpu at the same speed, so that speaks volumes about the way AMD has executed the FX lineup-poorly.

Some people beg to differ. @Bubblewhale thinks a Q66000 is worse than an 8320.

Well, technically it is.

Then, what about a Q8200? Q9550?

Next time one of my friends say that AMD 8350s are better than Intel I5s i'll say, "Bruh, a core 2 duo beats an 8350". Also does it run games well?

My x5450 runs games fine, at my clock it's basically 2500k performance.
