Here's a fun little bug I found... Every time I open a new tab or close one the 'This PC' icon add's itself to the desktop.

I've reported the bug, seems I'm not the only person.

Quite amusing really. Like a farm of icons growing before my eyes.

I've yet to encounter any bugs with W10... I don't know if I'm lucky, or just god like

Unless you have a personal reason for not doing so. If you find such an error, please use the Feedback feature that comes with the OS to report to Microsoft.

That looks like a driver bug. I'll check again once I get home, but I don't recall this problem on my side (Nvidia GPU)

i'm not sure if anyone has notice but the windows have some sort of ghost effect on the edges, i'm not sure is this is only but here it is if anyone want to confirm is this just me or is on everyone, also its only barely noticeable on dark grey backgrounds like the forum dark theme shown in the picture

That's the shadow effect :)

I'll look on mine, but I don't know why you have stepping on yours.

Make sure that your GPU is outputting full color.

Bellow is a screenshot on where it is on the Nvidia Control Panel. I can't find a picture for AMD cards, but it's somewhere in the Radeon Catalyst Panel

nvidiamessup.jpg

Make sure it's on Full color, not Limited.

They changed the shadow effect to give it more depth or something.

yes i notice but i find it a bit annoying the way it displays on grey backgrounds looks a lot out of place and more like a glitch or error, also i found a comment on the feedback app that has couple of votes about this, and i agree whit him is very overpowering and distracting especially whit snapped windows

Like goobytes just added to his post, you might have limited RGB on hdmi, which is default on AMD at least, and you may have forgotten to change it since you just recently installed 10

Here is a proper shot of the window in Windows 10.

(The image that you see has the shadows transparent)

thisPC_t.png

You can take the above picture, and put any background color you want.

Here it is with the same gray you have above:

thisPC_g.png

As we can see, @Syntaxvgm is correct. You can see stepping. This probably because a quick shadow effect is being applied to reduce GPU load.

It's like in games. You COULD have super nice shadows, but it's super taxing. So, shadows are not that nice.

What is your sound card?

From "SB" I am guessing Sound Blaster?

Try running the drivers as Windows 8 compatibility mode.

If that doesn't work, keep in mind that Creative Labs has a reputation of doing everything they can so that you buy a new sound card for a new release of Windows.

well, it doesn't get that much in the way but when it does it is annoying for me, so i would appreciate if they added an option to turn off shadow effects on windows

also i just got a bug whit the desktop that the wallpaper goes all black when i accidentally switched off my modem, was watching the wan show on that moment, it got back normal once i highlighted the whole desktop whit my mouse

I'm not even sure it's artifacting. I just took a look at it on a halfway decent IPS monitor and I can barely see it. I think it could be a TN panel issue. There's this bad spot of grey gradients that look awful on some TN panels, even IPS panels. My laptop is worth mentioning, it actually flickers with some grey line combos despite having really good colors for TN. I had an issue recently where I made a logo wallpaper with a gradient as the background on an IPS panel. When I moved it to my laptop, it looked like the gradient only had 10 steps or so. I could not for the life of me figure out what was going on. Eventually I figured out that by brighting it to a lighter grey made the steps disappear. Someone more versed in monitor color could say the correct details, but as far as I can tell, the lower color Gamut on some TN panels has less greys, and thus has issues displaying subtle differences in dark greys, causing a stepping effect.

My monitor is a true 8-bit IPS (H-IPS) panel, and I see it.

You'll see it more on a TN panel, because it does 6-bit colors per channel with FRC to emulate the missing color to reach 8-bit colors.

I can actually see it on white, if I come close to my screen and look closely. You just see it more on gray, as it shows the stepping more easily.

If you zoom in on a picture, now you can really see it.

TBH i don't think that the monitor is the issue whit me, i don't know what panel my monitor has, because like a lot of brand, it just marks TFT LCD but i'm 100% its not TN, must be either VA or IPS because the viewing angles are very good on this, its the same color on all angles and my second monitor its definitely TN an is actually less noticeable

also is there a program that can test what panel the monitor has?, probably there isn't one but since where talking about this i figure ill ask

the sound card i have is the best selling creative model they wont discontinue it anytime.

when windows 8 came it was not working they came with win8 driver in one month after launch. then it was working again but as you see win 10 will be hitting stores in 2015 till then i am struck with onboard will try some methods to make it work.
