a friendly streamer going by the name of Captain Richard on twitch has started a fund to buy a idris dedicated to being a party boat you can go and get on(if you have a pass) and have a good time. hes a real good guy and i can see this being a ton of fun later on.

I can't open the page; is the boat huge?
Do they have any idea how much it costs for such a vessel? Let alone moorage, gas, crew, etc etc

Thats the first edition of the Idris. It had a revision done to it a couple months back, increasing the length of the ship by about 100 Meters (And is now classed a a Frigate rather than a Corvette).

I don't see the point of giving money to some random chap for his pleasure. I'd rather donate for a company owned ship or something.

 

Same here. We can do the same and have our ship that we can always send to battle should the need arise.
