The reason for this is ultimately for suggestions. If you find you like all or many of the game below could you suggest one not listed? I include console games on this list, just to help convey my taste, but I will only be purchasing PC games from here til the foreseeable future.

Something else - A LOT of First Person Shooters.  Go pick up a strategy game or something!  lol.

 

No, for reals I agree when it comes to shoot'em ups.  This is about the best list in a long time.  Did you ever check out the original Killzone?  It had one of the best story lines and one of my favorite multiplayers modes, if only more people played.

I have Witcher 2 but WHOA does it seem complicated. I played the tutorial and I can say I'm not used to that much complexity. Do you think the learning curve is pretty steep, or did I get intimidated too easily?

You pay money for more than just the ingame ship.  You get a copy of the game for starters, plus alpha and beta access, sometimes things like insurance, starter credits, and so on.  Its a much better deal than what people thing.

Oh ya, I read about the insurance. It does seem very good, but I shy away from in game economies and mmos in general. I've seen people get sucked in. Star Citizen does look awesome, but I'm leary.

Witcher 2 is a must have.

Following games I recommend based on replayability:

Faces of War/Men of War ( the older ones)

Splinter Cell Chaos Theory ( mods and tweaks keep it fresh)

Defense Grid ( sequel will be out soon too)

Sins of a Solar Empire ( with or without Star Trek mods)

Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter (max out the difficulty, after a few days of plating that you will scan rooftops for snipers whenever you leave the house)

IL 2 Cliffs of Dover ( if you dare take on simulators)
