I'm looking for a gaming laptop for someone, help?

A family member needs a new laptop asap. Their old laptop from 2013 died and they were getting annoyed from the lagging anyway. They want to play facebook games without lag and to have a smooth experience. I think they just want to download and play simple games without any issues. The budget is ideally $600-$800 USD ($900-$1200-ish AUD). I found the two laptops so far that should be more than efficient but there might be cheaper or better alternates at the same price range. I will name the laptops I thought about below. BTW I live in Australia so I converted the costs for convenience. Help appreciated.

Acer Nitro V 15.6-inch i5-13420H/16GB/512GB/RTX4050 - $794 USD ($1198 AUD)

Lenovo IPG 3i 15.6" FHD 120Hz Gaming Laptop (11th Gen Intel i5 11300H) [GeForce RTX 3050] - $662 USD ($999 AUD)

Upgrade in the making

MY CURRENT PC - GIGABYTE B550 Aorus Pro V2 | Ryzen 9 5900X | Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO 32GB 3200MHz C16 | RTX 3070 Ti VENTUS 3X | 1TB Sabrent Rocket 4.0 NVMe | 1TB SAMSUNG 980 NVMe 3.0 | RM750x Corsair | Corsair iCUE H150i Elite CAPELLIX | Corsair iCUE 7000X RGB

first one seems a "little" more expensive but you get more futureproof laptop, as 11th gen intel cpus and 30 series rtx gpus are little bit outdated now (but it doesn't mean they are unusable), so now i just depends, do you want a more modern laptop that will last atleast longer than not so new one, or you want to save some money for it to be outdated earlier (p.s. first one is around 40-50% faster)

The nitro is like BY FAR the better.option here. Spec wise a bit faster

Nitro is 8 core with 4050 RTX, vs 4 core RTX 3050 Lenovo

Nitro also could possibly have slightly better cooling than Lenovo
