LTT 3DMark Thread

Well for a GTX970 2way SLI your score is okay and not everybody can have golden samples :).

One of my cards does 1600 on the core in valley, but the other one is poo and only does 1552 in valley :(

It seems like 1539 on the second card is all it wants to do in 3dmark, and for some reason it won't pull the full 1.275v when it boosts, it only pulls 1.243, and if it would get off it's LAZY ASS and pull the full 1.275, I'd probably be able to squeeze more out of it.

I wish my cards had samsung memory, I have revision 1's and they have hynix :(

Well the one sample is for sure a good one :).

I don't really think you have a problem with the VRAM. Hynix is good memory after all. As long as it's not Elpida everything is fine hehe. I've got Hynix on my Titan X cards and they OC both very decent the memory.

But as your Voltage issue, to me it sounds more that your VRM has hit the limit on one of your cards. There's not much you can do other than go for a better cooling solution.

The thing is, when I bench like this I turn all fans to 100%, and the cards don't even really go much above around like 55c, so I can't imagine heat is a major factor.

I think it's more of a stock bios may be poop type-of deal.

An oldie but a goodie, not submitted on this site yet.

Using Catalyst 13.5 at the time...

Benchmark: Fire Strike
CPU: Core i7 2600k@4.55ghz
GPU: Gigabyte WF3 HD7950 (R9-280 before the rebrand)
GPU Core: 1175Mhz
GPU Memory: 1750Mhz

Score: 7535
3DMark Link: http://www.3dmark.com/fs/718913

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

That is pretty much already the issue. Maxwell doesn't need much Voltage for reasonable high OCs. But the cards PT and TDP are pretty limited. So with a slightly modded BIOS you could go higher. And besides that your cooler can take much more beating ;).

No, that was an overclocked Titan X. I'm guessing Firestrike doesn't report the correct core clock.

I actually re-ran the test after restarting my PC. I had a bunch of programs open, so my updated score is 15400.

Are you 2K under 14380 or 15380? I didn't touch my CPU and I could get over 13K.

Lol 15400 with an i5... that makes all the guys with X99 and i7 machines and their GTX980 look bad.

Man that´s one hell of a score with an i5!

With a K1ngP1n ? How much clock can you reach ? I got 13200 with my G1 and I still have some headroom (I think).

Without the EVGA Bot the Kingpin is nothing but a collector´s item. You need the hardware device to unlock the card. But the thing is the card and device cost around 1100 USD. For that money you can go and buy a Titan X ;).

You do get a boost with the 4790K though.

Also wouldn't mind the EVBot. Hardware voltage control xD.
