my 280x toxic came yesterday. played with it for a couple of hours last night. this was a rough run without dialing things in. I think that 8300-8400 is possible.

crossfired it with my old xfx 280x tdfd and did 2 runs (the xfx barely overclocks). the cards are running at 16x/4x (mobo) but it still perform well.

learned my lesson. first and last time buying anything xfx.

If you want  GPU for overclocking on the AMD side MSI is normally the best performer along side Sapphire

i'll might give msi a shot with my next gpu upgrade. i REALLY want to get my hands on a 290x lighining and throw a single stage on the gpu.

the problem with the xfx 280x is the very low quality power delivery system. it causes a huge vdroop under load. if i set the vgpu to 1.3v it'll drop to 1.8v under load. if it weren't for the vdroop, the card would be a 1200Mhz card 24/7.

Yeah so do I, I mean I love my MSI 280 Gaming I use for benching and stuff since it does 1260MHz on the core and 1875MHz on the memory with no vdroop.

It's already at 1.92v tho, does the 0.020 help?

Will try it at 2.0v. Do I have to turn off any settings on the bios or do I just leave everything at default?

I still have the fastest 970, where the fuck did you get that 5930k. D:

@naj

So i found out why i fried my first 2 classifieds. It seems they were running 1.67v instead of the originally thought 1.437v the first time around. Precision was reading incorrectly. These new results are with 1.437v on water. No 1.6v runs :)
