LTT 3DMark Thread

People said 1400 MHz on a Refrence 770(PCB and Cooler) was impossible. Yet I still managed to do it.

If I have a will, I will find a way to do it on air.

I don't know much about 770, so I can't judge how hard that was.

But I am one of the Intial buyers of the 290X Lightning, got it a few days after launch. And paid $750 for it.

If you bench 1350 on Air on something like Firestrike with proper effeciency, I'll GIFT you my card.

Edit:- No matter how tough your will, you can't defy Physics.

Challenge Accepted, I am still waiting to get a hold of my 290x Lighting still.

But yeah on air, the Coolers shroud was to hot to touch and the the location were the VRMS were just about hot enough to start cooking food.

FS E Pass for 1411MHz on the 770 :http://www.3dmark.com/fs/2833241

I'm gonna try for another 1400 MHz pass on it again since its my Samsung 770 that I kept.

Plus its still winter, keeping a card cool enough to do multiple runs at stupid voltages should be easy :D

You'll never the VRM much hot on the 290XL since they are overbuilt.

Its not about the temps, above 300mv or 330mv you'll simply get a Blackscreen.

We'll talk when you get the card, I'll be still around.

Estimate ETA..??

As if someone knew more than bare speculation of AMD´s R9 390X... nothing but rumored leaks. This card will not be cheap either, AMD made a statement to the German site Heise.de that the R9 390X with 4GB HBM will be 700+USD. Everybody that thinks it will be cheaper will be having a bad suprise.

All that rant about the Titan... same rant as when the original Titan was released. You guys should know better than that... then again hardly anyone of you plays in 4K. And Vlad no offense but a GTX Titan X 2way SLI is less waste of money than your e-peen 4way that scales horribly.

I only said

35% faster than a 980.? 390X will probably be faster.

A small critcizm/opinion is not offensive to anyone except an NVIDIA fanboy or employee. :P

390x will probably be faster than a 980 as it should since it will be almost a year between the two, but I bet you can OC a 980 better than you'll be able to OC a 390x. Add to that the entry level 390x is supposed to be $700. I still don't think the 390x will be as fast as the Titan X. The real showdown will be next year when 16nm is launched :)

I'll be quoting myself from the last page again

Clockspeed is useless, performance/clock is what matters.

Doesn't matter if the 390X can gain only 150-200mhz from stock like the 290X. If it can eclipse the TitanX's 300Mhz overclock in that 150-200mhz, it will be just fine.

And I said, will the 390X be faster than TItanX.??

Nobody (not even me) knows. We'll just have to wait & watch.

But Nvidia releasing TitanX before AMD's next gen GPU comes out gives me a feeling.

I´ll buy 2-3 R9 390X no matter what. Like written before that´s the reason why I have 2 X99 machines ;).

BTW we should create the Titan X owners club in LTT´s forum :D. But my sample will be coming from EVGA.

That's a smart move.

A lot of people on OCN are also holding off to buy from EVGA so they don't loose their warranty if they take off the cooler to put WB on.

But it will be gone from EVGA in a matter of minutes. Be on top of your F5 game. ;)

That´s true :). I will get my EVGA samples. I was offered through my local Micro Center Gigabytes... meh thanks but no thanks. EKWB fullcover coolers are best off with an EVGA card IMHO ;)
