It just allows use of multiple keys without getting any errors in whatever is being done in game and doesn't cause any lock ups of the keyboard (it is only limited to specific keys).

Cool. That sounds like a useful feature to have.

Bought a Proraid 4 bay enclosure + 2x 6TB WD Red (I'm starting with two first, will add another 2x 6TB later on). It presently has 2x 6TB + 1x 4TB for a start, I'd also gotten a Sony Z5 Premium case for my Z5P, in pic on my LG V20. Quite like the look and feel of the case, plan to get at least two more cases for my Z5P since I don't intend to sell it.

I got this SSD yesterday.  Seems I got it just in time since I think it was sometime yesterday that Amazon ran out of them and is showing the 500GB as "usually ships within 1-2 months".

I haven't decided yet if I'm going to use it in my main desktop or save it for a future build.

Either way I think it's pretty cool to have one.    Not to brag or anything bad but @STRMfrmXMN I thought you'd be interested in what I got.  ?

Thank you!    Idk if I just put it in my main desktop and put games on it or wait and use it in a future build.

I just thought switching it with my 850 Pro as my OS drive is also an option.  ?

(Though despite people saving TLC using SSDs like this 960 EVO last plenty long I'm still a little nervous about using it for my OS in my main desktop.)

Argh idk what to do with it.  ?      I'm tempted to just stare at it lovingly.  lol

What do you think?

I'd use it as a storage drive in your desktop if you want to easily be able to take it out and plop it in a laptop or something. Otherwise, make it your OS drive.

My laptop doesn't have M.2 I don't think.   It's too old.  lol

I'm fine using it for games but my concern is:

Is a crazy fast NVME SSD like this hardcore overkill for just running games?

So much $$ o.O Why do you need the drive enclosure BTW ? Maybe an Editing station or NAS server ?

It was either the Proraid or a Synology 4 bay NAS but all I needed was a place to store my ripped movies, I didn't need the NAS capability. I figure if I transfer my movies to the Proraid, I can free up a couple of my WD 5TB external drives and some 3TB bear drives (used with a docking station) for my music collection.......DSD, FLAC and WAV files do take up a lot of space.

Got a certified refurbished iPhone SE to replace my 4.5 year old iPod Touch 5th gen, which ran out of space and had declining battery life. The 6th gen iPod Touch was way too expensive, especially the second-hand and refurb units. The SE was only $25 more on average and offered a lot more features (including being a phone), so I went with that. :D

Just bought a pair of 25' ethernet cables (one for my PC is a decade old and rekt, and the one for my Plex server has broken clips) and a short 3' one (since my laptop currently has a 9 foot cable going maybe a foot and a half). All for the low, low price of free. Next up is giving my mom cash so that she can buy a 2TB 2.5" HDD so that I can pick that up in-store, as well as a dual-drive bracket for my case. And hopefully after that I can have her get a new graphics card since mine is well and truly shot.

Might I ask what you plan to do with that monstrosity ? How did you even transfer it o.O I'm still worrying about how I am going to shift my desktop and peripherals to my college hostel :/

I put the case in the back of my truck and transported it.

My later plans are to build two computers inside.  One a dedicated monster folder/boinc rig and the other one probably a huge 2P or 4P server to handle a RAID array to act like a NAS and handle VMs.  Still kicking around ideas.

Now I wait ...

Normally I do not do the whole RGB thing but I thought to myself the Apex 350 has a row function buttons on the right end that the 300 does not so I got it for that reason.

Also I have no need for the game codes so I may give those away. Not sure.*shrugs*

Got me a new toy to tinker with. I'm going to throw on Lubuntu and use it as a hobbyist dev computer.

As much as I kind of enjoyed the Mac Mini for that, I have no interest in writing programs for the Apple ecosystem so I don't really need it anymore.

What is the motivation behind this folding thing?  Or "boinc" whatever that is?

I honestly know nothing about either so I'm curious what they are and why people do both.

Awesome.  Have fun!  ?

Two questions:

1. Why not that pricey yet cool looking devil canyon one in the black case with the skull on it?

2. While I'm not meaning to criticize your choice of the 850 EVO.  Isn't using a sata m.2 drive defeating a little of point of a crazy fast m.2 drive?

I guess I'm trying to ask, why the EVO and not a nvme drive like a 960?

Anyway, really cool purchase.

Actually a few more questions:

Are there any issues with longevity or heat with the 850 EVO?

If you're done with your Mac mini what will you do with it now?

What do you use a "hobbyist dev computer" for?

Sorry for all the questions.  ?
