Touch Screen 1080p display for doing online college work mainly got it so I can use it to sketch out math problems and use the built in calculator windows has easily it is only a 60hz panel and has a 7ms response time but I don't really notice the response time and the machine I have it hooked up to only has a GTX 650ti in it so it works perfectly fine with the setup I have it in and it's really convenient for doing homework and especially doing math homeworkIMG_8939.JPG

Yup they are heavenly. Took awhile to position them though. I'm with the rents while I house shop so I have quite a small area for them. They sound like heaven though and I can only imagine how good they'll sound once I'm out of this cramped room and have a big area to position them in.

That and I'll be able to get the Motif X center channel, a sub and some surrounds xD

Yes, that is a pre-built system, but I consider it as paying £80 for an asus H81M-K, Intel Celeron G1820, 2GB DDR3 1600Mhz RAM, a 2010 WD blue 320GB 2.5" HDD and the 250W PSU along with windows 8.1 which I can slowly upgrade to be a sub decent gaming computer (and probably make it a lot better if I decide to upgrade the CPU).

Because everybody know more cores = more better, right? B|

nah but seriously, eventough i lose out on NVMe support and some gaming performance, my rendering performance will increase by about 30% over my 4770K. so imo this is a pretty good upgrade!

I changed the back patch on the current vest I'm working on. Well, one of the back patches.

I just couldn't help myself. A complete impulse buy, I didn't realise it's size until it was too late. Not going to get a refund as it will fit perfectly on my vest anyway. Plus, Lemmy.

A second Gtx 660 (second hand), and some stuff from Amazon to make my phone have wireless charging. Always loved that gimmick.

That is why I said slowly upgrade....

The iGPU is going to be able to run a few games (at very low settings and only once I get the RAM upgrade in), but there's a lot more stuff I'll need to get like a monitor (I'm not going to be using that VGA only squealer with it for all eternity) and a beefier power supply before I get to the meat and potatoes part and get the GPU that will allow me to really game.

I think you could have got a better starting platform for that price tbh :(  the only things you are going to be left with is the motherboard and case.

The case is getting junked since this is going to be an under the TV system (and not in one of those cases that has limited or no space for 3.5" hard drives) once all is said and done, plus I have plans for most of the extracted hardware so nothing will be wasted (and that G1820 won't get much back in the way of money if I sold it).

I don't even think I can better that spec along with an operating system for that price since a majority of the refurbished systems at around the same price mark are a lot older and some of the second hand options also have windows vista installed (I could have spent a few quid more and got a socket 1150 pentium system, but I didn't have the funds to get a £100+ refurbished computer).

I didn't want to be dealing with old hardware and more power hungry processors, plus those older processors can be beaten in the benchmarks by even the G1820 (although the CPU information in the first link is inaccurate) and that includes it beating my current 9 year old AMD processor main desktop computer.

What I wanted was something that could be made into a low end gaming system and had at least some current form of processor upgrade path that could turn it into the under the TV system I was planning on building.

I went record shopping yesterday

IMG_20160913_101904.jpg

The records are The Fall pf Hearts by Katatonia, Хармония - Вечност - Вселена by Aryan Art and Nattens Madrigal - Aatte Hymne til Ulven i Manden by Ulver.

The casset tape is Rouges Chapelle by Chambre Froide.

The CD is Hembane by Cultes des Ghoules.

The Chambre Froide tape and the Katatonia record are probably the best things to be released this year.

The Ulver record is one of my favorite records of all time and I finally own it on vinyl.
