i find it lame if they really discontinue the 16Gb model. honestly i dont see how people can use more than 20gbs of storage on their mobile devices... for and ipad maybe it would make more sense to remove the 16gb model but not the phones.

 

They are killing the 16GB and slotting the 32GB to its price point - thats a bad thing? 

 

Many people actually blow over their allotted storage. I know I'm having to juggle content now that I'm nearly done with 64GB. It can happen. My photos alone can go 20-30GB, and I sure as hell like having all my content with me cause I do have my phone all the time, I don't have my computer all the time.

Resolution cannot be 1280x800. Apple has to keep their odd resolution scheme (iPhone 5S has a 640×1136 screen for example) or they will lose compatibility with older devices.

true, and that is at 326PPI and the 1280x800 is at 321PPI, I doubt Apple would go down in PPI

well that is their retina standard. Also how is the facetime camera 1280x960 yet is 3.2 megapixels, and able to take fhd(1920x1080) ???O_o

I think some of these specs may be erroneous lol, stick to Macrumours for more reliably accurate info.

besides the bigger size and sapphire glass they hardly change a thing just improvements but since a lot of people consider the iphone a god like phone, its a case of don't fix it, if it ain't broken, regardless, an iphone would be the last phone i would want, i seriously don't like apples software both ios and osx

Don't let them give you crap. It hasn't even been released, there is a 95% chance this is all pure speculation.

 

I think that kind of res is just pointless. The LG G3 has that and it straight up makes no sense. Would love to see 1920x1200, but if they stick with the same pixel density and thus display tech that they had with the iPhone 5/5S, I would respect that since that just is one stellar looking display. Don't need more imo.

 

Also, the A8 is gonna be somewhat exciting, but more importantly, please give us 2GB of RAM.

The G3 has 2560*1440, 16:9 as opposed to 16:10 on the iPhone.

I am highly, and I mean highly skeptical of the screen resolution, considering the iPhone 5/S/c were all 16:9 aspect ratio while 1280x800 is 16:10, making apps scale improperly.

Doubt it will be 1280x1600. Apple would be stupid to change aspect ratios again after they got it to the standard 16:9.

Believe it or not, I speculate that the 5.5" device will actually be the next iPod touch. I think it'll have lesser specs and the same screen resolution as the 4.7" model.

Seems like just guess work to me. Especially with the screen resolution, I doubt Apple would change to a 16:10 aspect ratio which would require the phone to be wider than their current aspect ratio does.

Its the 80:20 rule my firend, Apple lives and dies by it.  Apple has done reall research and determined that the with the screen size and the distance you will view it from, any visual benefit 96.8% of people will gain from a higher resolution is not worth the extra cost to build or loss of battery life.  It is also approximately the "retina" resolution for the expected viewing distance and screen size, which means that that 80% of people won't notice a higher resolution without a direct side by side comparison.  I have a Dell Venue 8 Pro 8" tablet with the same screen resolution and it looks phenominal at about 3/4 of an arm's lenghth away.
